Mouse Smoothing

a ps/2 mouse only updates it position on the screen about 60-70 times a second, so if you have a bitching system that is really fast and gets high framerates you will notice things are jerkier in fps. this is because your framerates are higher then your mouse updates so it looks jerkier. enabling mouse smoothing averages the mouse movement out to make things look smoother at the cost of some accuracy.

windows ps/2 default is actualy only 40 but you can get adjusters ( most drivers come with one now ) to move it up to 80.. after that if you want more you got USB... thats 200 i belive

Ok I got a MS IntelliEye (optical) mouse.
Should I check "Mouse smoothing" or not? I have gotten different views.
If "smoothing" is good for all mice then why is it not default set?

if you have the intellieye u dont really need it on because it updates on the screen way faster then most other mice. If you have it hooked up to a usb port it updates around 1,500 times a second!
