Well, they all look cool, but I'm pretty happy with the status quo. 2 semi-auto shotguns already, what more could you possibly need?

I really don't see what purpose they could serve, other than giving you AR-style visuals while firing shotgun shells... there's a reason they aren't seen out in the real world, too...

Besides, shotguns using buckshot are contrary to the second Hague Convention on the Rules of Ground Warfare, if I'm not mistaking (Or was it the Geneva Convention?), so arguably they shouldn't be in a *military* mod at all. /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Of course the US didn't sign that one, so we can leave them in anyway , hehe /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Not to be cruel, but none of those shotguns are practical, fit the bill or in are in military service with exception of the Saiga which is already used by several other mods.

What for?
Both shotguns in INF are quite similar(hell, every shotgun is quite similar to the other), and against hollywood movies and popular belief, the shotgun in any form(single/double barrel, pump, semi, full auto) is NOT the ultimate combat weapon.
Shotguns are specialist weapons, often used to breach doors, fire nonlethal projectiles etc.

Whatever, since I wouldn't not like any shotgun in combat, I also don't want any more in INF.
Rather put in a SIG550 Sniper..

And those who ask for the reasons for my shotgun-dislike:
-recoil
-low range(even slugs are not accurate past 50 meters)
-low mag capacity
-usually long reload time

u can choose so many types of ammunitions : slug , sabot, flechette, "00" ...

recoil is important yes but it's because shotguns are very powerful too /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

so USAS-12 or SPAS-15 possess an specific AR type, they're like ur SIG ; fast reload , recoil yes, but good kill too ! /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

now if Shakken said than it's not possible to add'em because they're not used by forces army ; i'm not desagree , but i thing it's very sad to delete this little babes of this great mod 4 this

Everybody who lets an enemy get into 50 meters of range deserves getting blown to pieches by a shotgun.

And killing a man at 600 meters is not cowardice, it's intelligent since it minimizes your own risk.
(OK, some might call it cowardice, but most of them only because they die from sniper bullets)

And an AR has also a wide variety of ammo:
AP, Ball, tracer, HP, hmmm..ask Gryphon for more..

shotguns are normally used in dense growth (jungles for instance) and urban environments.

They are supoedly used to clear foliage (yeah right). But they will do nicely of clearing that nasty "foliage" from small rooms (with a buckshot spreading thingie and clearing "foliage" from foliage .

Shotguns are usually used in jungle enviroments simply because in such a dense place a spread of shots is easier to hit someone with than 1 at a time.

Would like to see a purposes for the Shotguns. Shot guns aren't used in military for standard firearms. They don't have the range. Usually used for door breaching, house clearing etc. Would like to see the ability to do this, to have a purpose for using the shot gun. In long ranges the pellets should drop off. S

A Benelli is mainly a Police, SWAT shotgun throughout the world. US Military Official Shotgun is a Mossberg M590. Most militaries go with pump action shot guns, do to reliability, ease of uses and low maintenance.
