I just read a review of it and I wonder if it could be an option for INF.

The predecessor Allied Assault had a SDK (meager 8 MB Download)

Featurewise it doesn't look bad:

- Netcode for 32 players
- Ragdoll Physics
- advanced graphic engine with pixelshader support
- good sound

They do have a section "total conversions" and "mods" for it on their webside, so I wondered...

So does anybody know something more than what's written on the box?

If it isn't a complete fanboy article it should be a complete new engine. They gave it 9/10 on graphics and said the jungle scenarios offered more detail and variety than farcry. Also lighting and weather effects were mentioned to be excelent.

I try to DL a demo somewhere...

It looks awesome, but I think it is still the updated Q3 engine.

Doesn´t it look like Mostar? :D

On one hand I would appreciate a bit older engine, because a huge map with many players could be played easily, which is not the case with modern engines, but on the other hand the engine should be not to old.

I just dl'ded and tested the single player demo (there are 2 multiplayer demos as well). Looks awesome to me! I highly doubt the Q3 Eingine could be the base of it.

It features Pixelshader Model 1.1 and 2.0 and requires DX9b... no word of OpenGL (which would be a hint to Q3). And it'S published by EA... no UBI or Steam crap...

Visuals are very good!... slightly moving bushes, dense grass etc detailed geometry. The engine seems to support destructible environment (palmtrees broke, started to burn ... dunno if scripted). AI seems great, atmosphere great, ironsight usage is already optional.

MDK (=Mod developer Kit) is already out around 100 MB which doesn't sound too meager... no clue if it offers enough for what SS has in mind.

I would really like SS to check it out... :)

I gonna buy it....

Which is a big pro.

I have read on the german pc games site
that it is not the Q3 engine but an engine developed by EA. It uses havok which is great, but has no motioncapturing (as I understood no matrix flying bodies, but good animations).
It has nice water interaction effects and if you see at leafes that are exactly at the deriection to the sun, they look distorted and they are some more nice effects.

My problem is, that the player models look less qualitative, but maybe it is kust the way they are made? Also the gunfire looks very HL1 like, but again, maybe it is the way it is made by the PA developers, SS could make it their way.

The realism simulating physiks, the realistic effects (sun) is a big pro for that engine, but I still doubt if the PA engine is that good.
