Heh lucky you.

I have a question about the raptor that you may be able to answer. In some situations when I jump out of the raptor I get gut blowed :mad: I know the problem isnt univeral to me, and I am not at ever in front of the raptor, it skids by me and gut blows me. :(

started thinking more about this because of the "catapults" suggestion -- tribes shifter had launch pads that pushed you a bit vertical and way lateral... very effective at closing large distances. they were deployable and heavier armors went shorter distances, light armours much further!

of course, landing could hurt quite a bit, that's why they may need something like jetpacks to soften the landing

Heavy armor player takes motar laucnher out, aim at base's launch pad and fires motar at it then proceeds to run infront of the motar and jumps on the pad. Motar explodes, giving a monster increase to the Heavy armor's launch. I've been able to clear a whole large sized map to the enemy base doing this. Tribes 1 :2thumb: I used to be in Ceral Killers clan which played Shifter and HaVoC mods.

Yeah... Someone said that the bike was a failed concept.. but that means that the coding for the bike already exists.. Maybe it could be changed or put into a special map where it *will* work.

I would only ask if you can import the Models of the Unreal 2 Single Player or perhaps you know someone who can do such things... This would be surely a special gameplay feeling, when you can choose different Races like the Skaarj and the Liandri. If would be amazing can use teh skins for example a LightMercFemHair_Gold and a MarineHeavyBlue or something like that.

I don't think I ever checked in any of the code for the bike, sorry Android... It didn't work anyway. Now that I'm unemployed, though, I am a little tempted to look into the bike again...

What I really want is vehicle entry/exit animations. Although it wouldn't be completely possible with the current vehicle models. I want to see the floating sentrys like in Hawkpreys designs, possibly as a ranger deployable (I don't care what anyone says, he needs a deployable, the sentry could be like a deployable camera or something).

when im playing im allways missing the nice stealth kills
ranger could have a remote charge to detonate from a close to medium range
tech and gunner could have a melee attack

I would like to see following mutator..

HUD Improvements:
*) Display all players with correct names, ping, PL, playtime (hh:mm:ss)
*) Display active/dead (locked in/not locked in)/spec

automated Tasks:
*) Demorecording (i think, the special demorec driver from usaar33 was only used for special features like slomo, seeking a.s.o. and is not necessary for autodemorec..)
*) Screenshots of Scores (maybe a complete listing of all scores of all players..)

additional:
*) IRC Clientside reporter
*) Chat/Score logging

I would do it myself, but i don't understand unrealscript.. :D
So, if someone has too much freetime and wants the features too -> let me know it for betatesting :D

I coded it, I just never checked that code into the build. (so I had it on my local machine but it was never merged into the main codebase). At some point I needed harddrive space and deleted it all. Back when I did it, we were still using KVehicles (an older implementation of the vehicle physics) so that code would be useless now anyway. If I do try to get the bike up and running now, it will be completely from scratch.

But back to mods and mutators.

Really I think the game is fine the way it is. Poorly implimented mods do more harm then good (same goes for crappy maps) and at this point I feel the best thing (and most important) is to support and teach the game as it is to new people to expand the fan base.

Bear in mind that this game essentialy has no official support. We are lucky enough that the legend people are still pretty involved with it, and that some clans (some are pretty sienor in other unreal games to) want to see it sucede, plus allot of good mappers, gamers from the comunity, and important comunity groups are backing it. Ladders are going up and I think somebody (maxx iirc) asked CAL about it.

Mods are cool and all, I am just learing of changing gears while the train is still at the station ;)

Saito has a point, but the counterpoint is that it's a mutator thread for a reason.
Its a plug in that changes the game slightly and adds a twist in play for a bit.
Getting a surprise keeps things fresh and there's plenty of servers that play regular.
I think Mutators are a worthwhile pursiut for XMP at this stage.

You have a point to however.

How can things be fresh when most player have yet to grasp the mechanics of the stock game ;) Nothing is old yet, most of the players out there are still trying to grasp the fresh xmp start.

Ooooh.. a drop ship.. I know what that is.. ofcourse.. it all makes sense now..

If you were to do it, give the ranger the proximity sensor. Its not something that frags, and fits into his role. by placing proximit sensors at the gens, and deploys it will alert you that somebody is there, and you can snipe them. Fits in perfectly, would actualy be incredibly powerfull, and doesn't give him even more killing stuff than he has but compliments his curret weapons.

Why dont give him bombs that are invisible (advantage over mines) but he has to set off manualy (disadvantage).. That would also make him a little more sneaky.. He has to get in a position from where he can set the thing off..

even if the community is not quite ready to try any mods yet, now is a good time for teams to be formed. For a good mod, it will take some time before it is ready. If possible, they should stary now, and hopefully, the mods will be done whne the community is ready for them.

I think that most people already want new stuff.. there is no need to know every little detail about the existing maps. New maps are cooler, where everyone is lost.. not only the newbs.. :D
