It's probably render/graphics card/etc related. It's the top of the box all the way around, well just before the top. At the sides.

Issues like that aside, I should really post my render setup for people - my UT looks amazing. :cool: Never have issues with too dark or too bright, just right. Colors pop, very colorful.... soft, sharp.... well, I could go on and on couldn't I! I pull up my old UT sometimes and it's so dark, also reminds of Mars. Drab and gray.

Worked a lot on smaller midway last night. Pretty much finished the bases. Started working on the middle. It's so-so so far.

By the way Sparky. I'm going through the maplist and cutting a lot. It needed trimming bad. There's several I would love to cut because they're so DAMN UGLY, but I know how popular they are so I can't. :p Anything you could do easily to make them prettier? Or is replacing textures and adding eyecandy too much to be worth the time? 3Bridges, OldManWalker, etc.

Edit: I'm probably the only one that cares how pretty or ugly the maps are, so I guess I shouldn't be asking someone else. sigh. It bothers me enough that I want to take time off coding to learn and do it though. :p

I don't care for 3 bridges. OldManWalker I could play or not. I wouldn't vote for either :p

My bad, I didn't mean 3Bridges. I meant the one you're always playing with acid between big bases and a wide bridge spanning the gap. You can drop down from above on flag. I don't know why I can't remember that name. Anyway it's drab and ugly and I don't know if it will make the cut. *wink*

CTF4-MidwayV2 finished. I redid the middle at lunch today, I wish I could make it fancier but I just don't posess the ability right now.

It's smaller in the bases with a larger middle, but it played well with lots of bots.

I love the layout Sparky! Well thought out and plays well. Very cool map. If you keep making CTF4 maps and I keep working on ADR and CTF4, I think we could really generate some interest from other players when we're further along.

I did notice that FerBotz got stuck under elevators, waiting for it to come down and hit them on the head. The defenders also clustered in a group hug near flag - that tends to be a common FerBot problem. :-\ Intentionally limiting the pickups? I didn't see the chest armor, know Midway originally has it - no health keg, but a lot of maps don't have that. I liked the thigh pads around the centerpiece. I miss the health vials on top though! I also noticed a few insignificant things, columns not touching the floor, textures that you "made fit" hehe. But I really like the map. :2thumb:

I've got all day to workworkwork on ADR! Hope to get a lot done.

Chest armor is there. Just gotta find it. Thought about putting the vials back but it looked a little odd.

As for the columns not touching the ground, i thought i fixed all of those. Gah! I still have to figure out the fundementals of UEd. I have a lot of trouble lining things up, it takes me a while but i usually get it close to right.

I noticed once in a while regular bots got stuck under the lift but they usually moved out after a second or two. Not sure why they do Get stuck. I really need to focus on bot pathing. Its important to making them useful in a map. I tend to focus more on us than them though.

I have an idea on a layout for pyro. Will either be loved or loathed. We'll see :)

Probably wont get toanything today. Giving the wife as little to do as possible for mothers day. Got lots to do with the little sparkette today :)

There's a CTF4 map that looks like an alien spaceship that has a giant pool of water at the bottom that needs to be turned to poisonous skins or a space vacuum. We had a good match going last night until Rip decided to take a swim and the flags never came out of the pool after that.

Ha hah! Well, there is some stuff down there, so it'd be cool if you could move it. Some powerups. And a portal centered above the water. Maybe make it damaging, but not instant death, put a platform for the portal and have it return the flag if you die in the whatever. Just some quick thoughts. But yeah, it was a good map and it was ruined! We all thought of our dear mapmaker friend. ;-)

The name is CTF4-FNB-GOMP!

Maybe a portal in/out but make the liquid similar to deck, with a suit you can grab to make it safe. Not sure how to do that but its probably not that hard, im pretty sure its a common thing

I saw it when we played your map last night. What kind of a placement is that?! lol hahaha. The vials might look odd without my ADR but not with it. ;-) The columns were almost touching, don't worry about it lol. It WOULD be great if you could become an expert on bot pathing. ;-) FerBotz have issues! And they're going to become the official bots of ADR. ;-) You don't like my no span not-idea?! Hehe. I like the sound of it 'will either be loved or loathed' though. :)

I could care less for bots and their paths personally.
Not a fan if bots at all. Unfortunately if i dont give them some idea as to what to do they could be more annoying than usual. My dislike of them is part of the reason i havent worried too much about the paths on the maps. Im not making these for mass distribution. Just us. If somebody else finds them and uses them, good luck to them :p

The easiest way to fix bot paths is to remove the bots from the server. ;)
Sure having no bots is fine for someone like yourself that can at least put up a fight 1v1ing anyone. But that's just..... about 4 of us. For the rest, and even me as I am now, it can be intimidating enough to keep you from playing, or joining the server, when you know it will just end up in all likelyhood as a 1v1 against somebody who will grind you into dust and leave nothing left of your ego after joining the server. Can you guys not see that? Can you not put up with bots for the sake of even just possibly encouraging more new players, or more likely and better yet more old players to come back, in the shoddy shape they surely are in after so long? Why do you think you never saw most of the people who came back again after they tested the waters? Sure they have busy lives but they were too damn discouraged and I don't blame them in the least. We all started around the same time and got back our skills to various levels together. And we're most of the best players to ever play. Even in the best of days most players weren't near our level and now we've had time to get the rust off and shine again as well. If new or returning players can play with bots too it might make it easier for them, would also give them something to do and another way to work on their rust and sharpen their skills - even the chance of that is worth fully exploring the bot option. So a little more support or at least not outright opposition would be nice from you guys. :p It's not easy to work on these bots and I'm not really doing it for myself, how much enjoyment do you think I'd get from it.

Which isn't to say that I COULDN'T have fun with them from time to time. Of course I'd rather be playing other players, but if the computer is strong enough to be a challenge to you can that not be fun as well? As a challenge? Or do you just scoff and say not fair or doesn't matter or so what and it's not reflective on you when bots are kicking your puny asses into mush. Oh, bah humbug on you people. :p

It's largely because of the importance I place on the experience of new or returning players that bots are important to me. And yes I still count that a possibility. If I didn't then that would just decrease the likelyhood of it happening further. I know I don't speak for all returning or new players about bots.
