Map Pack installation

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. I just installed the update 4 FHI that was released earlier. I followed the readme and installed it 2 C:\UT2004\ and it created a whole new folder called FHI2K4. Some one help with this ASAP:( Also,i launched the game but the new maps are not in the maplist and arent in the maplist config. either.

You probably have FHIv4(.1) installed, while the FHCP was meant for FHIv3.
The folder for FHIv3 was called FHI2K4, explaining the new folder.

What you should do now is go to C:\UT2004\FHI2K4. Cut all the files in there.
Then go to your FHIv4 folder (\UT2004\FHIv4 by default), and paste everything there.

And because the FHCP was made for FHIv3, I just have to warn you for a few things:
Although the maps should work fine, the 2 gamemodes are kind of buggy.
I don't know off hand if they're playable or not, but there were some things that didn't work.

Second: You can easily replace the laucher.bat file, that won't give the game any problems. If there are any other files that interfere with FHIv4 ones: do not replace any of the FHIv4 files. Or if you must, keep a back-up of all the files you are going to replace. IF it concerns 2 different versions, that is (check the dates on both of the files to find that out).
This shouldn't happen though, but I just thought I'd mention it just in case.

After that you can just delete your FHI2K4 folder, which should be empty.
And launch the game with the new .bat file

I don't believe it.. someone downloaded our map-pack, one year later. :D

All the maps that came with the FHCP should work in FHIv4 but will not taking advantage of the v4 features.
