Are there no alternatives to the Creative patch? There are different drivers for all sorts of hardware. I would imagine there are several alternatives to a messed up Creative patch. If there are no other drivers, just don't install the patch.

The question is: Can a server admin take the risk of a 4.36 server? They can be used for remote code execution and i bet there are ready made exploits out there. Together with some local bugs the attacker could get compete local access on you box.
It sounds like exspecially the GD server is situated inside of a companys network, maybe with some valuable information directly on it but atleast with the ability to scan and go on with the attack to other machines. A valuable target if you ask me.
