P A N Z E R F A U S T !!!!!!!!!

Methink good idea! Methink AT4/C4 do special damage to special armor and special armor only destryoed by special damage! so It would make it impossible to destroy armoured vehicles without 'em! Not bad idea mate! Cheers!

Overtly Serious Chappy.
Or you could use it against some form of bunker/ emplacement/ machine-gun nest/ pill-box

Basically, its use should be against vehicles/buildings etc., not infantry. I got the impression from the Desert Storm scenario above that it was used spur-of-the-moment.

Hate to brake it to you but have mixed the "Carl Gustav Rocket launcher with AT4"

AT4 (PSK m/86)
Weight: 6,7kg
Cal: 84mm

And this is a "Fire once and throw away"-weapon

GRG m/48 "Carl Gustav"
Weight: 14,2 kg
Cal: 84mm

This is a reloadable '2-man weapon'
Fires: Smokegrenades, Explosiongrenades, Antiarmorgrenades,Lightgrenades. There is a newer model of CG, that is slight shorter and only 8,5kg.

Don't beat me, AT weapons are not my strong point, but is the RPG7 not a reloadable weapon?
Would give much more sense than a LAW..
But after all I only use AT4 during DM games, and even them very, very seldom..

The Panzerfaust (Tank-Fist) was a German WWII anti-tank weapon, projecting a shaped charge grenade up to 150 meters. The Panzerfaust grew out of the Faustpatrone (Fist-Cartridge):

The first Panzerfaust, the Panzerfaust 30, was originally designated Faustpatrone gross or Faustpatrone 2. Crude sights were added and the physical size of the warhead was increased, making the contact area 5 cm in diameter. The amount of explosive was doubled over the Faustpatrone to 800g of 50/50 TNT/RDX, which in turn increased penetration to 200mm.

Subsequent models of Panzerfaust differed mainly in size and range.

Although officially a single-use throw-away weapon, the used tubes of the all the Panzerfaust weapons were usually collected and returned for rearmament at the factory.

I'm a fan of keeping the AT-4 ... Most maps don't have it, and those that do, it can be fun.

I'd like to see missions that use it - an Assault mission to take out a missile launcher (SCUD?) or a howitzer would be a good use for it. A howitzer (if the ammo goes off like you want it to) will make a BIG boom, so you don't want to blow it with grenades - you want to be farther away, so that's when you break out the AT-4.

Of course, while one teammember is using the AT-4 and aiming it, the other's have to keep snipers from killing him before he gets the critical shot off... could be lots of fun!

Any chance the Dragon or TOW can make it into the game as a replacement for the AT4? I miss the guidance ability of the Redeemer. If the force multiplier aspect makes it too powerful of a weapon, both of these weapons have to be deployed on a spot and can't be moved until the round hits something. Shoot the shooter and the round goes wild. Obviously, the TOW would have to be a turret.

How about we load a warhead with Gryphon's tech manuals and launch that...now THAT would do some serious damage!

Actually, this is what my new map (AS) is all about! Attacking a base with 2 Tiger tanks. Primary object: destroy the tanks..... So, plz keep the AT-4 /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif (Or similar)

Ah hemmm!!! I hate to sound like Gryphon here BUT an Dragon or TOW missile launcher wouldn't be very practical. Why? Well, they are wire guided missiles. THAT means that where ever you put the launchers crosshairs, the missile will follow and hit that same spot. THERE IS NO CAMERA INSIDE THE ROCKET!!!! Since Inf is very realistic, if there was an TOW or Dragon, you would have the view change to the crosshairs and you wouldn't know where your missile is since u are concentrating where the crosshairs are. ALSO you are terribly exposed while guiding the rocket and someone could take you out very easily. The Dragon has a fairly short range for a rocket. If u die while guding the TOW or Dragon, the rocket will go out of control. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

and in addition.... TOWs are using cables to control them, or ...
So this means a cable should be 'flying' through the whole level, hehe, fun but nearly impossible /infopop/emoticons\icon_wink.gif

To the general use of these kind of weapons inside an Assault map:
It can be used for the maps targets, but you can use it on everything, so how to control the objective?!
There are two ways, first the weapon can only used once, but then the objective cannot be accomplished, if someone missed the target or used the AT4 or whatever against troops. Or you can grab it again and again... so what will happen? The AT4 will be used for everything you can think of. It will un-balance the whole map design, the one who has control over the AT4 is THE man inside this map, and so it will end in a fight around the AT4 and not for the objectives.

So, you have to keep this in mind too. /infopop/emoticons\icon_wink.gif

OICW, you're right about all those things. But also, it'd
make the weapon more fair than what it is now. I think it'd
be funny for people running around with wire cutters (argh!
another weapon??) trying to snip the guidance wires. But
you're wrong about aiming these things. Both have a bright
flare at the back so the shooter can see where it is. And
with the TOW-2, it has an enhanced aiming system that
calculates position and distance in real-time. For the
shooter, you just have to point the crosshair at a target,
and the rocket will adjust its angle accordingly.

On a more suggestive note, what about replacing the AT-4
with a laser rifle (no, no, not the blaster type) that
designates a target for an air strike? Wouldn't be such a
deadly weapon against people unless you're unlucky enough
to be there when the bombs hit.

AT4 balancing suggestion

How about a player with the AT4 must launch from a crouching position, or they take damage when the rocket is launched and knocked to the ground. Also, the assualt map design mentioned would, I think, give the attackers too much of an advantage: they could take out the vehicle from long range while the defenders scramble to figure out where the attackers are coming from. One solution is to put the tank in an enclosed area, but then the AT4 would be pretty silly to use.
