This reminds me of that really bad movie where the people cheat but they get caught. And the one guy (who I think played the long-lost brother on Boy Meets World) hates adopted kids, but ends up being an adopted kid himself.

Heh that's funny, somebody also contacted me on Facebook. His lastname was apparently the same as mine (a quite rare one), and he wanted to check if we came from the same family. He was from Australia and his version of the name had another origination than mine. Could've been kinda weird to find out I had an entire family located in another part of the world, which supposedly nobody in my danish family knew about :p

But congratulations on your sister tracking you down. What are you gonna do now? Murder somebody for not telling you?

I already sent you a PM about this some time ago, but I sure am thinking about you, and hope you can cope with it pretty well. Must be an unbelievable shock, and I don't think internet has been pretty easy on you lately, so I wish you my best luck to keep your sanity ;)

I hope everything turns out ok.
Thanks! I'm doing fine :)

Well it's not that they are secretive, they aren't. I just was never really interested in getting in touch with my birthparents.
My dad's family history is mostly a mystery because he's silent about his past, so it's really par for the course for me. We knew no one in his family until a few years ago when one of his sisters got into contact with us and came to Thanksgiving dinner. Now my sister goes down to her house in Virginia Beach all the time. It was my sister who somehow found out we have a half-sister too; my dad still refuses to speak about it.

Our family is not really that close and most of them have died off anyway, so if you have the chance to have a great family, I say go for it. :/

Not necessarily. It is quite possible his parents were married but didn't want him.

Damn it, I was trying to avoid a potentially really hurtful joke. I blame you Iron Archer for setting me up.

But yeah, my family is also a pretty big mystery. My mother and her father don't get along in the slightest, so everything on my mother's side other than her sisters is pretty much a mystery. And I know for a fact my dad was married at least once before, but no idea what the deal was with that. We practice the system of awkward silences and "don't ask, don't tell"

Actually, I have a half sister somewhere out there, that my mother gave up for adoption because when she had her she was not married and "too young". This was probably like 1960 or so.
