Hi,

Bought the movie Ronin on DVD yesterday and I noticed the H&K grnade launcher from INF was in there. I didn't knew what it should look like but it looked very similar to the model in INF. Saw it right away.

A little further in the movie was a heavy machine gun that looked exactly like the one in Opposing Force for Half-Life. For the rest there were some handguns, MP5's and M16's but these tend to look the same everywhere.

I was wondering if you know of any other good movies where I can see some of the weapons that appear in MODs like INF. I already have The Matrix and Heat on DVD. That scene near the end certainly is a nice firearms showcase. The TEC-9, Uzi, ... it's all there.

Thanks in advance,
brey

Rogue Force is available at blockbuster as a new release. Its close to a "B" like movie with some known actors in it but is very enjoyable. There is plenty of modern special forces style guns and "Infiltration" style action.

Check it out.... Its worth the 3-4 bucks . =)

SIG 551 carbines. Watch closely at the bit where they are running into the basement. You can see the thick magazines and the folding stocks.

Also, when the 'possessed' trooper drops his weapon, and the camera focuses on his feet, you can see the SIG recoil spring cap screw and the flash suppressor(which on an MP5 is rarely used and envelopes the exposed area of the barrel completely).

Whow Shakken, you certainly have an eye for detail. I think I will have to watch the movie in slow motion again.

About these kinds of movies again then. Do you know any other titles? I didn't find Hard Boiled in the IMDB and Rogue Force is not available in Europe. These are the ones I liked the most so far:

Ronin - very good
Heat - very good
The Matrix - good
The Rock - quite good

What about Léon? Is that a good action movie?

I'm going to rent Léon one of these days. After seeing Jean Reno in Ronin he's one of my favorite actors.

Here are a few other movies I haven't seen yet and I'd like to rent. Any comments on them?

Pulp Fiction (yeah, I know, shame on me /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)
Goodfellas
LA Confidential
Reservoir Dogs

If you really want to see Jean-Reno in action, rent Godzilla. He actually TALKS in that one /infopop/emoticons\icon_wink.gif
Or why not one of my old time favs; Le Grand Bleu. In that one he speaks not at all or very little which is pretty normal for him. /infopop/emoticons\icon_wink.gif

My current favourite movies;
Mulan
AntZ
A Bugs Life
Das Boot

Ok, you can kick my butt now /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Cunubelin:
Anyone whose fave movies list includes Das Boot and Le Grand Bleu (the Big Blue) has my respect. Both of them own. Any action lovers should stay away from Le Grand Bleu tho.

Breydel:
Try searching Hard-Boiled thru IMDB with it's original name, "Lashou shentan". It's directed by the god of action, John Woo and stars Chow Yun-Fat in his finest action movie role ever. Best action movie ever. The 45 minute hospital shootout just has to be seen to be believed (and LOADS of guns in it..Calico carbine, Krinkov, M16+M203, Beretta M92F, Colt 1911, Ithaca shotty, Mp5K, Tec-9, FA-MAS...they're all there.)

And while youre at it, check out The Killer too, it has some amazing action scenes too... John Woo directing Chow Yun-Fat and Danny Lee in one of the best Gun-Fu (not Kung-Fu) movies ever. Loads of guns in that too (and a incredible end scene...)

"One Vicious Killer. One Relentless Cop... ...Ten Thousand Bullets."

"The Biggest Body Count in History"

Yeah baby!

Thanks very much for the extra info mp*lennon. I've found Hard Boiled and The Killer now in the IMDB and they both seem like exactly the type of movie I like. I searched a little more on John Woo and came up with these 2 titles:

1. Broken Arrow (Slater/Travolta). Not an action movie in the Heat-genre but more that typical Hollywood action. But I love seeing Travolta as the bad guy in this movie. Slater doesn't act to bad either.

2. Face Off. This one I haven't seen but it sounds like a good one. Anyone seen it?

Erazor - well Arnie is not everyones favorite, but this movie is cool too (and features some nice guns also)

to "Das Boot" aso.... great stuff !

Tremors - the "In the Land of the Rocket Worms" movie (the german title)... wow, have never seen soooooo much weapons within some seconds of a movie.... the crazy weapon freaks almost have everything.... from handguns, machine guns, assault rifles to elephant killers... everything.....

some other cool movies:

Bad Guys
and
Cold Blooded
