How do i make a surface NOT walkable???

Jenkins once mentioned a groundfriction ZoneInfo setting. i would assume it changes all surfaces in the zone, so you may have to get creative to get the results in the desired areas.

You could try making the sides more steep (You can't walk up a wall too easily) and then placing an invisible collision hull up at the top to prevent someone from translocating to the top. I haven't actually done this before tho so someone please correct me if I am wrong.

It is good of you to want to prevent people from walking on top. Too many map designers neglect this :-(

Or use BlockPlayer/BlockAll (Actor-Keypoint-...) actors...they don't mess up your geometry but will work as a collision hull. (Though it has cylindrical collision. Define the area under the Collision properties of the actor...Radius, Height)

Is the block all's center where the collision radius starts like this.....Like if i want it to be 2048..would that be 2048 all around the spot where i place the block radius?

Ok to see the radius of an actor right click on the greybar at the top of a viewport( best if top view) then go under actors and click on radi view. Every actor you have selected will have circle around it which is the collision radius of it. You might need to adjust the collision height also.

I did? :D

Anyway, a blockall actor might not look right. I mean, suddenly you stop walking up the mountain, stopped by an invisible forcefield thing? No...

The groundfriction setting might seem more sensible. i.e. you slide back down the hill when walking up. Same effect as making it steeper, but without changing the geometry. Might work.

zone off the place you dont want them to walk on. Groundfriction is located inside the ZoneInfo's properties, under the ZoneInfo tab. You have to set the the friction, which i cant remember what is what. if you have unreal1, load up Vortex.unr (1st level), and check that room where the armour is, they did it there.
