How can I skip the UT intro??

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

In Half-Life you can add a parameter in the shorcut for the EXE to skip the intro. It's stupid to have to go to the intro every time I load up the game. Admittedly, I know I can hit ESC and skip it, which I do, but I'd rather skip it altogether if possible and go straight to the game options.

I don't think there is a command line option
for that. I searched Epic's web-site with no luck. You can however edit the "UnrealTournament.ini" file in your
c:\unrealtournament\system\ directory.

Look for this line (about 5 down):

LocalMap=CityIntro.unr

And change it to this:

LocalMap=Entry.unr

You'll still have to hit escape once the logo
loads, but UT will load a little faster.

cool...you're right. it wasn't incredibly faster but it was much better. it seems surprising that there's no command line option to skip the intro. i mean, heck, the intro looks incredible but how many times do they expect you to watch it? =) how about an option to skip it. heh.
