The Hitman: Contracts game was dumb.
I am a super assassin, but I can't do any planning for the mission and I can't pick what I am bringing. WTF
Why can't I start out in disguise, why do I always have to get one lying around or subdue someone for it. When knocking someone out, why can't I just choke them? If not choke, why not just hit them? Using a syringe is stupid, there is no way that would work IRL.
There are only 1 or 2 ways to do anything in the game. There is nothing creative about it, the entire game revolves around trying to figure out what the game designer wants you to do.
Of course, you can just blast your way through the levels, but then I might as well just play any other action game.
I want a more complete assassin game. One where YOU get to plan the mission, what will your cover and alias be? how will you procure proper identification? When (morning, noon, evening, night?) and where (work, home, car, plane, public?) is the proper time to strike at the target? Also what will the mode of assassination be? sniping, poison, bomb, close range?
Also intelligence work: Who can you bribe, who can you threaten/coerce, who must you torture?
You should be able to do almost anything, the only limitation being money. You are a buisiness man first, assassin second. If this is your living, you have to make money. Equipment, weapons, back up or teammate assassins, disguises all should be bought before hand.
