Heat Haze!

what about heat haze? You know, and hot day you seeing that "swiggly air", and mirages on the road? Do you think Epic will have it in UT2007? I know i would just love to seeing some heat haze trailing a rocket, or a deemer, and other weapons. And imagine the haze at Deck 17! And mirages too, id love to see some of that, it would add lot of realism to the game's look

U mean that program where light bounces off of the atmosphere... yeah that would be cool in UT2k7.. ive only seen it in a few games so far...

It looked awsome in Doom 3. You can pretty much bet it'll be in UT2k7. The game is pretty much throwing everything possible at you with the graphics.

But what is about the heat haze beeing in the map, like in Deck17 the whole area below would be a boiling spot, could the engine handle it?

Seeing how games like BF2 & FEAR handle particle-effects there's little doubt that UE3 can handle effects like heathaze.

I think the real question is : can the players handle it ?
Just look at how corona's etc. get treated ...

Distortion Paticles will be in ut2k7.
some games called it a heat effect. whole screen or paticle field will Distortiont the environments u also see it in the devkit demo's of unrealengine 3

I would like to see it on the Flak Cannon replacing the visually disturbing long flak shards.

Also put it on the flak secondary.

By uc2 they make it by the secondary flak shell.

when its explodes you see a whole Distortion wave around it

Who cares if we disable stuff when playing multiplayer. I love playing singleplayer with HOLY**** settings and getting 5 fps, it's just not fun multiplayer because I like to be competitive multiplayer. The more immersive the experience the better.
