Halloween, or the trick-or-treat thing, is getting more popular in Holland every year. We had it this year in our neighbourhood. And my daughter was dressed up as a pretty little witch ofcourse :D

When I was a lad (ok, ok i don't remeber when all this was fields - lol), Trick or Treat was a very rare thing indeed and the streets were safer. Then all of a sudden back in the 80s (lovely era ) it became an epidemic.

My wife made the stepson up to be a vampire and his little sis (1yr) to be fairy????

How scary is a fairy?

Our milkman is permanently a halloween fixture - scares evryone down our street

Vandalism charges probably. Too many kids doing the traditional tricks get charged with vandalism in either civil or criminal suits. People love to sue each other. [humor]After all, it's a great way to engage in some friendly competition. A distinctly legal (pun intended) way of betting if one looks at it right[/humor]

Strange though isn't it? People will sue for any stupid thing now - if a kid squirts you as a trick it was funny - now you get done for assault and dry cleaning bills!!!

Kids in England cant play full-on-tackle rugby because of this. If a boy breaks his arm, his parents could sue the school for £1000`s
In shops they sells Simpson`s masks...very scary

Hmm... I guess our area isn't sue-happy then. A guy in our class in year 8 dislocated his shoulder after being tackled in a game of rugger. It wasn't full on, take-no-prisoners chomp chomp, but it wasn't wussy touch throw the kakking ball either.

Now were touching a sore subject - I too am UK and I heard the most stupid thing a couple of months ago - 'School Sports Day'

Non-competitive sports so no child feels they are better than the other - what next? Synchronised Boxing?

Takes the mickey that does - I thought that was what 'sports' were about. I think I'll place a bet on Man U to draw against Chelsea in a couple of years time.

I busted both thumbs and a litlle 'pinkie' playing rugby back in 197x and all my mum said was, '... it'll make a man of you playing sports like that...'. Yeah right 14 years old two busted thumbs - where was I going. ;)

In AMerica, as a result of "soccer moms" (or football moms for all you crazy Europeans ), sports are now so competitive the kids do pro-level trianing from the age of 5-6. Then we have the non-competitive sprts thing here too. Beyond that, if a kid does not make a school sprts team, there can be serious legal repercussion coming out of the hand of mom and dad's lawyer. Needless to say, people are nuts. NUTS!!!

My God!!! That is so crazy!!!.

That's how we get Lawyers, because people are bad at sports and they spent all their time reading and writing. - LOL

What drove me nuts, was at sports day, there was one particular child who was a natural runner, jumper etc - but when it came to the end all the kids got exactly the same awards!!!

One of the awards I might add was for 'Magnificent Achievement in Running' - one of the kids was about 10st (140lbs) at age 8 - He got halfway and stopped to catch his breath and cry.
