Hmm...I'm not saying we should necessarily stick with them. But you have to admit, it IS the spirit of the game. I for one would be a little miffed to suddenly be fighting bugs bunny or something(not that this is what you are insinuating..but the style of the game demands a certain style from the models. At least, that's the way I see it.)
Here's the way I see it. Muscular guys are stereotypically attractive. Muscular women aren't(stereotypically). I honestly think that the designers of the game had it right when they made these models. They knew most people wouldn't want to play "ugly" characters. And no one's going to want to play a Joe Normal either.(Besides..how did Joe Normal get in the Tourney???). I realize that beauty is entirely subjective. Many, many people find muscular women attractive(I'm not one of them), but it's still a "market to the masses" and your "target audience", which, right or wrong, is a bunch of horny geeks /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif.
But I do believe that the target audience needs to change and I agree with the women who want more variety in the models. In a perfect world, you could put whatever model you wanted in the game. But modelers are few and far between in the grand scheme of things, and they usually make models for their employers(governed by that "horny geek" demographic), or for themselves(where they reflect the authors idea of what he wants to see in the game.)
There so much more to say on this, but really, I think it's pointless. Models are being made. If they're still not up to your standards, learn how to make your own. As an artist myself, I can tell you, I like beautiful women, and most of my art reflects that, whether it's realistic or not. I'm sure most male modelers are the same.
On a similar note, I saw some women complaining about being ganged up on when others found out they were women. WHAT THE F*CK??? That's so messed up. Guys...what is your problem?? I'd kill to find a girl who accepted my interests, much less shared them...and here you are giving us a bad name. Losers.
