Worst news! But I knew it was a pipe dream. Gamespy should be bug #1 with Borderlands, but probably not worth the effort to resolve.

I imagine that there's a number of reasons:

1) Rewriting a large chunk of code to change APIs
2) Retroactively requiring all users to switch to Steam
3) Dealing with headaches of Steam users trying to connect with unpatched clients.
4) Contractual obligation with Gamespy

Regardless, I'm going to be very surprised if BL2 isn't using Steamworks.

Oh and this is just beautiful:

"…inevitable Borderlands 2 downloadable content."--Randy Pitchford, who was promptly mocked by the team for his inability to keep a secret.

Oh great more 10 dollar content that is barely worth 5 dollars to begin with. Guess I will be waiting for the inevitable DLC pack sale.

The General Knoxx dialogue was worth $10 alone. :D
General Knoxx said:
"I know I said I wasn't gonna update you again, you brainless moppet, but I thought I would share the news that former Agent Athena has been working with a quartet of donkeys that bested our bulimic albino commandant. You remember Athena, right? Killed the Dahl undersecretary for us a while back? Oh wait, that was before you were born. Unbelieveable. What am I doing with my life? Well, wanted to let you know I'll just be shooting the whole lot of 'em... Oh, and I quit. When this mission is done I'm leaving the Lance, which I know is punishable by death, but the suits that change your diapers couldn't find their car keys if they dropped 'em into their own pockets. So I'm not too worried that you'll track me down on the other side of Grophic IV. In conclusion, toodles." - Knoxxed Out, ECHO #5

Knoxx as a whole was the only one worth 10 dollars. As long as they don't pull another Moxxi, and give it as much content as Knoxx had, then I might consider getting them for 10 bucks.

The problem is that Moxxi's is lots of fun, they just confusingly made it so you can't make any progress. Who REALLY got the 20 round achievement? Cheaters, that's who.

Also you don't get any progression on your proficiencies or XP, so there's little reason to bother. I think that's the only DLC I grabbed on sale.

I've been soloing a lot lately, but using a memory tool to trick BL into thinking there's 4 people. Bit more of a challenge and get more/better loot

Also found a much easier way to sort through everything Craw drops. Dump my own inventory in some corner, grab everything he drops then go through the backpack. Toss unwanteds over the edge

I think I tried it a twice and got to four rounds and then got hammered and gave up. It ends up being a bit of a sniper spamfest.

The questing in the game is great. Some of the locations would be good for co-op; Old Haven for example.

I bought it on sale recently with all the DLC. I feel I have gotten my money's worth out of the game play. It's a fun boot and shoot.

Old Haven is one of the best areas in the game, both in the base game fighting Crimson Lance and fighting CL Zombies in The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. That close range, street-to-street fighting mixed with rooftop snipers and some open areas covered by turrets is just fantastic.
