GD Teamspeak Server

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Both shutting down the TS Server or Locking it with a password can be done. However, that is just *two* more things I have to do every Monday thru Friday (close it/open it). I am already doing that with the Server and I even forget to do that from time to time. No Thank You ;)

As for firewall rules. Good idea but my firewall box will not let me do the rule that I want (need). Allow M-F 7pm~9pm *and* Allow all day S~S. :(

Big Edit
Well, I re-looked at the ways the rules worked. I was only thinking "Allow" this rule on X days and X times. I did not even think about the other rule type, "Deny". So, I now have it set up for Deny the TS/Inf Server rules M-F, 9:00 to 18:30 hrs. Hooah, thanks Cleeus for making me think about the firewall again. :)

Now I hope it works ;)

Bigger Edit
Seems the firewall only looks at the Deny Rule and will not proccess the Allow rules. POS Firewall. Time for a new SonicWall!

Firewall rules are usually traversed in a certain order. If your "allow" rule comes first, and fits, then the firewall will no longer search for another rule.

Sooooooo wait? Old TS server is gone forever? :(

This new one just doesn't feel like home. There's all kinds of other clans from different games......it feels like a talk-orgy....

I feel dirty...

Yes the old TS is gone. The INF server was almost gone too, and it still might be. My boss ran into a internet bandwith issue last night and he did not like it at all. :(

The new TS is really an old one. It is was GD was using before I opened up the at the office. Those other clans, well that is *real* family that I share it with - so back off. :p

But here are the details:
MODERATED HOME CHANNEL This is the non-talk channel, much like the "old" TS

Inf_Public Just like old TS

[THUG] My Brother N Laws Channel. AAO and Shadowban are played there.

{GD} Ghost Dog Channel Same as old TS

{TX} Texas Clan Backup Room This is my AAO Clan and I provide a backup channel so we can talk if the primary TX TS Server goes down. Not used very often at all.

My brother n law is [Thug]Pitt_Jaxx and he provides a about 1/3 of the payment. He is a TS Admin. There should never be an issue since his channel is passworded. If he drops his password I had not better hear of Inf players giving him any hell.

Lastly, this is a good thing. There is no chance that TS will eat up bandwith from the INF Server. Also, the TS Server is on a Internet Back-Bone in Houston Texas. So the Voice coms will be much better. I even upped the Voice Codec so you should hear a little difference in the voice. If I knew all the INF TS users where on broadband I would up it more....

That's too bad. Don't get yourself in trouble Odie. I know what it is... I was sysadmin for the lab where I know do my master degree for about 3 years. From time to time I ran game servers, but it's always troublesome to use a corporate network for personnal puposes.

For the badwitdth issue, if you make sure no one downloads map from the server and there are no multimedia feed (e.g. TS servers)... that should be fine. Game servers don't use that much bandwidth afterall.

All that is running at the office now is the Inf Server. The R/D downloads come of our "Rental" site, which is somewhere in California. Which I have to watch how much space I use but bandwith useage is not an issue at all.
