{GD}4 Public server is online. NO password and good pings.

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Me and Keggy got together and figured out a way to make GD4 public. And now hosted at Kegs pub we present GD4! (cue music)

We will be eventually running almost the same maplist and camo selection from the good ol GD2 as well as some new maps like Reactor46!

Looking forward to seeing you all there. Just add to your favorites!

Note:

It is only running RAv2 at the time of this post. All the other mutators will be added very soon. As well as the maplist.

ater i switched inf companies...and occasionally (note occasionally) visited MUF servers i got like 40 ping, and i was under the impression that it was hosted somewhere in the southeast...near atlanta....

but good ping yay!

Yep, {GD}4 is in seattle. The biggest issue is whether the processing power is there. Bandwith for sure is, and so is hard drive space. Ram is tight, but managable at the moment. It'll be up (along with the other <P^R> servers) through most of August, but after that their fate is uncertain.

By the way, is there any news on whether Reactor Sector 46 is now working?

I heard there was a problem with it online, but I've not been able to reproduce any problems in a LAN setup.

1)what was wrong with 46 in the first place?

2)um...i didnt get bullet lag on GD2, but now i do on GD4....that may have to do with ram usage.... if there are available memory slots on that server, ill help chip in for some new memory....

(1) All I heard was that it was causing the GDn (where n is 1 less than 4) server to loop. However, the GDn server is apparently now a forbidden subject (for reasons I'm not familiar with), so it could have been a server, rather than map, issue. It would be good to know, all the same.

LOL FM Thanks for not mentioning the cursed server. You have no idea how much headaches that gave me and especially poor old ghost. Reactor46 is STILL looping. It appears its a map issue. I know it would be difficult but could you find out why? There are so many ppl who want to play this thing and it would be greatly appreciated if you did. ;)

EDIT: BTW Saladin i offered for us to pitch in for some RAM also. I will discuss it more with Keg later. I dont think buying a RAM chip will be a waste for more than 2 months of server usage if it helps with performance issues. Ill keep you informed if you would like to help out. (maybe you can sell your WRX and buy us a server) :lol: :eek: ;) :D
