well I`ve had a read of the RD page and as i know diddly about coding it didn`t do an awful lot for me :))...once you`ve used voice comms nothing takes its place :))..so bearing this in mind is there any way that a mutie could link to a voice comms prog such as TS/RW etc.? e.g. if you say asked for team positions.... as each member pressed their key to verbally answer ..via the comms prog..a dot would appear relative to the askers position so even if the team member answering wasn`t sure of their position the person initiating the message would get the info they required...probably can`t be done, but it would I think be a lot more intuitive and become second nature pretty quick....hope it makes sense ....typed as i was thinking it through...always a bad sign...and if i`ve repeated anything already mentioned ..sorry...

the only time people dont know where your "contact" is, is IF they arent near you, as they should be, if they are supporting you, or you are supporting them. If you go off on your own, and say "Contact, North 004" noone will have a clue a) where you are b) your status, c) where the f*ck the enemy is.

BUT, if you stick together in groups of 2 or 3, if one says "Contact, North 004" the supporting team mates will have roughly an idea where the enemy is spotted and will lead into covering fire and support fire. Hence the message - its best to stick with 2 or 3 people.

Or if you are on your own, at least tell the team the exact location where you are situated.

ie for Iraq -> Im on 3 floor, covering arch OP. People will have a good idea when you say Contact *insert direction* because they know where you are and what you are covering.

so i think that the direction is INVALUABLE to team play, although i do wish coordinates made more sense rather than scenery, because "contact 45 45 12" makes absolute no sense, but "contact North 025" does.

not really on topic but tonight was the first time I`ve had chance to a) play with voice comms and b) play with a squad mate from our old clan who I`ve introduced to Inf. and it was very very enjoyable...much better than GR which is where our clan experience is from...and i would agree that you need to be able to work in small groups 2/3 and be able to back each other up instinctivly, and be able to co-ordinate offense and defensive tactics "on the fly" we always used to know where each other would be, but that just comes with playing with the same squad and good practise, but I think voice comms certainly is THE way to play the game but only really between people who know each other, I`d hate to hear the chaos on a public server where people have never even met before  also noticed on the server that the team names stayed on the UTcompass which was handy and gave a general idea that you had a team mate somewhere nearby....is there a set distance that players "register" on the compass? 25-50 mtrs?
