Sounds fantastic. I was probably going to reinstall to see if this "expansion" makes the game worth playing, but I have an allergic reaction to crap servers. It's weird. I start playing and then suddenly slam my hand down on my "disconnect" key. D:

EXACTLY. Expecting people to show up on a crappy server is like expecting people to play a fun game that has a crappy ui.

Honestly at first I thought the lag was my system hitching. Everyone just needs worse rigs and you won't be able to tell the difference...

How many people are using the Steam version or XFire? Would it be terribly difficult for us to move the group to a different server if the lag gets unbearable? I understand we have a chicken n' egg problem regarding getting a new server... can we get a new server from some place for a month or two as a trial run before committing to the hosting company long-term?

We'll probably move it before the pack comes out. It's just a pain because we have to downlaod all the custom content, move the server, then reup it all. Very time consuming.

So no remote desktop access to the box so you can download everything directly? That's annoying.

Well we have FTP or something, but they remove your content on one server and then put a fresh install on another server. You have to get all the content back up there somehow

Yeah but it'd be faster to remote desktop / vnc into the server and download directly into the box instead of having to deal with upload speeds from home by FTPing to the box itself, since download speeds are typically faster than the upload pipe. Which would be faster than FTPing all the custom stuff onto the new server, especially the titan pack and the CBPs.
