The entire paragraph that he just posted, is what his point was. Seriously, man..
There's a lot of animosity towards the beta testers, and some jealous frustrations about the fact that it's closed and certain people were picked over others. The fact remains that FMI picked their beta testers for reasons, and those reasons are their own and they could be as dumb as 'I threw a dart at the wall and it landed on X name' and that would be a sufficient answer to the masses because it's their mod.. it's their choice. I realize Destruction's post doesn't stem from the same roots as most of the 'opinions' on the testers have been coming from, but still. There are testers who don't play XMP or haven't in a long time. There are a lot of people who bring different perspectives, play syles, and gaming experience to the table. It's a good mix of players, and everyone is doing their part. What Destruction is talking about it isn't exactly beta testing, it's helping in the decision making process. Testers are finding bugs and holes.. not saying 'Well PERSONALLY I'd like to see this aspect about the game changed due to X reason. It would be better in MY eyes if it were changed. Thanks' No. They are making posts saying 'X location in Y map is bugged with a Z effect' or 'Weapon X has problems doing Y' etc etc etc. They are pounding out the bugs and imperfections and FMI is correcting them very swiftly, and doing a great job. Just because someone was picked to beta it and help find bugs does not mean their voice is of any higher priority to be heard, or of more importance than anyone elses who posts on these forums and is anticipating the game. I'm quite sure that FMI is listening to everything that is said, no matter how ludicrous it seems. Sure it might be dismissed about .02 seconds after they read it, but it's being read nonetheless.
I think all of the recent posts with FMI asking about certain aspects of the game that could be changed, and getting the entire communities opinions on them is a good sign that they are interested in what you (the community) thinks and they are trying to make it the best they possibly can for you. Finding bugs isn't making it attractive to the masses. Finding bugs is making it
playable for the masses, whatever they happen to do with it.
