wow. so much detail. those characters have some serious polygons. pitty about low res.
As if I could afford either, but does PS2 support higher res on a digital TV? and also, can ya get wide-screen monitors for your computer? that would be w00tish

The pics don't look all that sharp and the thing about PS2 screenies that I just can't ignore is jaggies. Somehow it just doesn't look up to par with other PS2 game screenies I've seen...
Needless to say, it looks fantastic compared to previous FF games and playing it will definitely be a blast.
On a sadder note, I'm still waiting for FF9's PC port to be released.

Is it me or do all the characters look like they are from FF8?
The chick looks like Rinoa and the guy in the yellow shirt looks like a cross between Squall and Zell...
I love the Final Fantasy series too(except for FF8 and FF7 ) square has some pretty good RPGs.
BTW Keichii is it true that Working Designs is a Sony exclusive team now(like square)?

Galaddin: Keep in mind that it's running in 640x480 on a television screen. Even if it was higher resolution, you wouldn't be able to tell unless you were running it on a computer monitor. Also, it's release date hasn't even been anounced yet, which means it'll probably be at least a year before it ships. I expect that there will likely be some improvement to the game's graphics by that time.

Wow, that looks awesome. I'm a huge fan of all the Final Fantasy games, and I can already tell that this game is gonna rock

Yeah, another problem with the PS2: res. That just plain sucks. I doubt there will be very much change in the graphics dept. The year will be used for story expansion etc. What troubles me is the fact that it's half online. Going to be interesting no doubt but will the game be finishable? And from what I can tell, still no voices. But they have taken those boxes away from the top of the screen.
Now this pic is impressive. Much she looks a bit like Selphie, eh? Looks like it's back to realistic characters like FF8. I thought it was gonna be more like FF9...

Too bad the final fantasy series is trash now. Once square got on the playstation they started replacing gameplay with fmv. Chrono Trigger will always be the best rpg ever

According to BBC Online, one in five owners contacted them with reports that their PS2s have never functioned. The report also claims that 28 percent of consumers' machines ran just once, 39 percent are unable to run games, and 13 percent cannot run DVDs. One consumer's defective unit was determined to have blown a fuse following one use. Although SCEA has fielded complaints regarding defective machines in the U.S., the number of reports has not matched those in the UK."

Galaddin: Final Fantasy X's online capabilites were scrapped months ago. It's going to be completely offline. The resoultion is 640x480, which is the maximum resolution of any console (even Dreamcast games never go beyond 640x480), so I don't see why it's a PS2-specific problem. As for no voices...
