Okay, I've got a problem.
I have a snes emulator and FF6 on it. I have an EMU save at the top of fanatic's tower, world of ruin. My last game save is in the beginning. I can beat the (rap out of MagiMaster, but at death he casts Ultima, which kills all my party. I've got all of the charas in the game, and I did all quests but Kefka's tower. So it's important for me not to lose my progress. My latest emu save before that is after nursing CID back to health... Can someone help me? I tried the Phantom esper/ bserk trick. Didn't help. Does anyone know how to resist Ultima?

So you want to know the secret of beating MagiMaster and survive? Very well. FF6 Master here shall answer you. :)

There is one cheap method to kill MagiMaster without doing anything:

Just equip all your chars with Wall Rings.

And then there are 4 methods to survive Ultima.

1) Have buttloads of HP so you won't die (at least 6000HP).
2) Use Palidor when MagiMaster is about to die, so hopefully the first char to land on MagiMaster will kill him, killing the first char, but leaving rest alive.
3) Use Life3 on all your chars, so when Ultima is cast, your chars will return to life.
4) Drain all his MP (in FF6, certain special monsters die if they run out of MP, like AtmaWeapon and MagiMaster), which then will cause him to cast Ultima, but he fails due to lack of MP and just dies. Do this via Osmose or Rasp.

Good luck. Any more FF 6 questions, I will gladly answer them. :)

Okay I've got a better way of beating him... you don't need 4 wall ring... just cast bserk on him and use the phantom esper... he will use "fight" and miss all the time. the only problem is Ultima at death...
1)I'm in the top of the tower and I've already taken the GemBox, so I can't level up, but my toghest guy has 3050 something HP.
2)I don't have palidor with me... but maybe dragon boots/ horn is a good idea...
3)I don't got nobody w/ life 3 and can't get it since I'm locked in the tower.
4)I'll try that, but I think it's a triggerred event, not a spell.

The 'draining of MP' method (the 4th one) is NOT a triggered event. Just drain MP using Rasp or Osmose until it becomes 0.

I think using Osmose will deactivate the Vanish mode on your chars, so I suggest using Wall Rings, and don't bother with Bserk and Phantom Esper, since in your case using 4th method is probably the only way to survive.

No actually, using Osmose doesn't break the vanish spell. I tried it when I first used the Bserk / Phantom method, 'cause my MP got low from using Bolt 3:).

Yes, FF6 is what FF3 REALLY was... :)

I know that you knew this simple fact... if not, you're no FF fanatic. ;)

I didn't play FF6. But someday I will. It's cool I realized that in evrey Final Fantasy
it's the same attacks and almost i think same
weapons.

I finished FF9 like 3 months ago. It's so cool. It's the favorite game I ever played! :) I'm really sensitive and at the end of the game I almost cryed. But I didn't.

Reaaly cool in the end when the big screen comes and says THE END you do some cheat but I forgot what it is. And when you do the cheat you can play Black Jack. :D . It's true. :) :D ;)

Gamma: It's because I care :D.
Moggie: Tried there b4 I even posted here... They don't help.
Thrak:
First FF1 came out on NES...
it was a sucess...
FF2 (NES) was the sequel...
its success was equal...
FF3 then came...
ppl found out the NES is lame...
and Oboy oboy here comes the mess...
they made a first game for the SNES...

for the SNES it was #1. but for...
the entire FF series it was 4...
but it was called FF No. 1...
for a reason known to no one...
It went on with No. 2 (or 5)...
then the madness went on a jive...
when No. 3 (6), the last SNES game...
finally came... and they found out SNES is lame...

so they made three games for the PlayStation...
but like some weird mutation...
and for no apparent reason...
it was as bad as treason...
they ps games are 7, 8, 9...
which is hard on a logic like yours or mine...

And then it happened (or so I heard)...
that over at squaresoft some oldies nerd...
decided to redo the SNES's #3...
and thus set us all free...
of this misery...
now is that f***ing game FF6, or 3???!!!

oh... and there were also Final Fantasy Tactics and FF 1-3 for the old gameboy...
 my fingers are all numb... weird...

There were. But they really weren't Final Fantasy.

In USA those were:
Final Fantasy Adventures
Final Fantasy Legends I
Final Fantasy Legends II
Final Fantasy Legends III

In Japan those were:
Seiken Densetsu (aka Secret of Mana prequel, and USA is still missing Seiken Densetsu III)

* Trivia: Seiken Densetsu means 'The Legend of Holy Sword' :D

SaGa I
SaGa II
SaGa III

The SaGa series continued into Romancing SaGa (there were three of them in all) series into SNES, and moved to PSX as a SaGa Frontier (there were two of them in all).
