You shouldn't need a pistol as backup anyway. Afterall with all this teamwork there should be atleast 3 more guns pointing towards the enemy to cover you while you reload... right?... right?....

What about if I run out of ammo through spraying and praying from the hip and want to sprint then bunnyhop around the corner to finish them off?

The only loadouts I don't carry a pistol on are those where I have a HK69 or a P90.

Usually a 5-7. But the same as spm1138 - not if I've got a P90 or HK69.

Supressed Mk23. Need it because I use the shotgun. I would love to more use the FAMAS but I won't till the engine allow me to have my eye closer to the sight

I never really use a pistol, because of the beforementioned reasons:
I prefer 6 mags and 4-5 nades than an extra weapon I never even use.
And if I'm really out of ammo, I can still sneak around and knife someone...

And tbh, it IS quite possible, but the case where you really run out of ammo is quite rare.

BUT, if I'd have to choose, 5-7!
- Very good punch when the armor comes into play
- Virtually no kickback
- It's nice design
- Moderately low weight when it comes to the average pistol
- 4 "-" arguments look silly.

Great penetration, acceptable firering rate and more rounds in the mags.
I like the mk23 too though. I usually carry one in dark maps for sneakyness.

Nothing says "I love you" quite like the Mk23. .45 caliber was the chosen caliber of Magnum PI. Failing that, the almight Pimp Stik.

Normally, I don't pack one at all...Unless Tiffy is around. And then it'll be my only weapon.

The only time I actually use pistols on a frequent basis is with my shotgun loadout. In my benelli loadout, I have a 5-7, because it's high ammo capacity counter balances the low ammo capacity of the primary weapon. For some reason, even though 5.7mm round has ****ty accuracy, I find the 5-7 seems to work the best for long range, probably because the sights are easier to use and the low recoil allows for quick follow up shots.

In my other loadouts I sometimes have an M9, but I don't use it much. It has the best accuracy, and good ROF, recoil, and damage, the only problem is it doesn't work well against armor.

Usually , i do not use any kind of sidearms online , i have my favorite MP5 loadout with smoke and frag grenades and that is all for the game.
The only time i use pistol is when playing offline , it is fun, but for my few tries with them online, i frankly prefer to use my MP5 that i find very easy to adapt to CQB or mid distance.

I played specialist game some time ago online, and i was given a Five/Seven (being choosen specialist) on the map Chemical Threat (very CQB oriented) , and this handgun worked surprisingly well to defend myself.
Few bullets kill an armored guy , and the mag capacity is good enough to try some "suppressive" fire.

I dont know if i was just plain lucky , but the Five/Seven seems very powerfull when you have only an handgun to defend yourself in a CQB environment in the game.
