My favorite sidearms are the Beretta (insane ROF) and mk23 (nice power and good rof). I use the mk23 more tho because it shoots the .45acp.

AKMSU? Heheheheh. Sorry, I almost never equip a pistol. I'd rather have the lower bulk and/or more ammo/nades.

i see. i had a nasty encounter on ds-jerusalem where i was in the dome and a guy pops up in front of me, maybe 10 yards away and i think i shot him 4 times with the mk23 and he dropped on the spot. maybe it was luck, but im definitely carrying a sidearm. i guess the pistol has a lot of sentimentala value as well since pistol kills are a lot more fun.
All-pistol matches could be fun - I do admit to liking killing bots and zombies offline with a pistol. But if everyone else is packing an AR, so am I!

M9, definitely. You can just whip it out and put five rounds in em. It looks all Italian which is definitely a bonus.
If there was a SIG I'd probably go for that instead.

Well, the m203 is sorta on the side of my m16, so.... oh ok. Um.. the M9 usually, but for all pistol matches nothin beats the DE.
When I want to be effective, beretta 92fs. But I often take the mk23 with a LAM because it looks uber sexy.
Never ever use a pistol, especially not now with all the armors. How often i haven't had the "auw auw auw" effect where my screen truns red 3 or 4 times from someone firing a pistol at me, while i casually look around and shoot him when i finally spot him. And i'm not even at half health. Pistols just dont pack the punch needed.
I usually fire 5 quick shots in the leg or one aimed one in the face. Always take the tango down...
I like the 5-7 most, because its amor pentration is good and I normaly shoot at the upper part of the body (I am not that good in aiming).
Aiming always takes extra time, why should i take that extra time to aim for face or legs and fire 5 times, if i can carry an assault rifle and be done with it with two shots anywhere on the body.

Certainly. But when the game says "as real as it gets" I usually stay away from pistols. AKMSU, 3 mags and four grenades is plenty for killing people.
If I use a pre-made load-out I'll also use whatever pistol comes with it. Or should I say my soldier lugs around the pistol, he doesn't use it. There's simply no need for a sidearm when you have a rifle. Get behind a wall and reload your rifle instead of whipping out a pistol and continuing the fight. It might not look as cool, but it's the sensible thing to do.
You shouldn't need a pistol as backup anyway. Afterall with all this teamwork there should be atleast 3 more guns pointing towards the enemy to cover you while you reload... right?... right?....
