Explodable ammo mutator ?

    Is there an explodable ammo mutator available. ?

    It would have to include some way of keeping a dropped loadout
    there for longer, as well, I guess.

    for exploting ammo you can use the same mutator from vinilla UT.

    As for making drops longer its one of the setting in the Options>Perfomance tab.
    (I think its there)

    Is this the normal UT 'explodable ammo' and 'explodable weapon'
    mutator....I did'nt think of trying that...duh.

    I'll look for the longer drops setting....I prob missed that.

    These are my first posts here since 2001 when I first played UT !

    Exploding ammunition is a part of Infiltration. It's an option. Most (actually all) server admins keep it off because of performance issues.

    You can enable it somewhere in the infiltration menus. Under "performance" IIRC.

    Each ammo type normally has a class for destructible and non-destructible ammunition, depending on the server setting.

    Try to drop some minimi boxes and throw a nade next to it to see why the servers do not use the option ;).

    Mmmmm...yeah I found the option...and checked it but dropped grenades refuse to explode! In fact just sit there in big piles !

    I tried turning that off and using the normal UT explodable mutator...but no.

    Any ideas ?

    what grenades did you drop? do you have the Weapon Pack installed.

    I'll be honnest with you. I know we should, we really should (*cries*), but we didn't bother making detonable ammunition in the weapon pack ammunitions classes. it's just not worth it since no server uses it.

    If you use the WP, it replace the nades, and I think they won't explose if shot at.

    the green grenades.

    I installed the latest release (2.9) but have NOT installed
    any extra weapon packs seperately.

    Buggy ? I got piles of grenades with explodable enabled, more
    than any soldier has in the loadouts ! There's plenty there to explode
    if they would though !

    If it does'nt work, then fine....it's still fun anyway...but I plan to make a map
    with lots of explodable items in it, if possible...a munitions factory ?

    Munitions factory...one thing explodes...everything goes boom...connection failed.
    Will kill the server i bet.

    I tried with UN17 on his test server when we tested RT. we wanted to see if RT could handle a lot of hit detection... plan:

    1) drop 20 or so Minimi cans (200 rounds)
    2) stand in the middle of them (and for god sake, turn god mode on)
    3) fire at the cans.
    4) lag

    Actually, that test almost blew my video card on, decal stay didn't help.

    I played the training map and dropped a heap of claymores. best way of moving from one side of the map to another:lol:

    I remember playing Dogtown on inf 2.80. the amount of times i killed bots running around with whole armouries on them with 40mms was huge. ;)
