So expect it to be done for tomorrow and then I have no more control over my tiny little zip (I have approx 100MB skins in the package now )

Man, are you talking seriously? 100MB, don't kill my modem please! By the way, check out my thread. Finally I sent Elvish Golem to Skin City. But there is something that bothers me.

Oh my god .Do you have webspace ? That way I can download it with a downloadprogram every day 2 hours .I can´t get a mail with such a big file , it would take 5 hours for me and my crappy ISDN-Connection .

Rex have you read the tutorial thread about how to compress images in UnrealEd? In all honesty if it's 100mb you'll have probably 20 ppl download it as that's waayy too big. In my experience, ppl won't even download 20mb of skins unless they're v. good.

With compression you could get that zip down to 10 maybe. Worth checking out / separate them into separate packs.

Just a word of advice not criticism

Ok I'll think of compression. My tiny little .zip is 'only' 51MB
Skins are extracted to a total of 133MB right now

I'll be reading that compression guide if I get a link!?
It's 'only' 12 skins so...

Here it is... Just scroll down a little to the bit 'another thing to think about'

Even 12 skins with tcs should only be about 10-20mb in a zip once you've compressed them that way first... I'm guessing they're all RGB so if they're highly detailed use DXT3 or DXT1 if they're still too big Hope that helps :tup:

I got it coming down from unreal.fr. Its coming well and without the wait .

I'll be re importing all textures in DXT3 which will have alpha channels else just plain DXT1.

All done with compression and my extracted skin pack is now down to 95MB and that's a hell of a compression from 133MB

It is down to 41.8MB! Should I split it up or!?

I would split it up . Two packs with 20 MB or 4 Packs with 10 MB .
Remember , not everyone is having DSL or faster .I don´t think a 40 MB Pack will be downloaded that much .
There is a better chance to get many downloads with several packs .

Or release a 40, 2 20s and 4 10s depending on connection.
