No mean to offend people who like UEd but I hate it! I always crashes for nothing and is a heavy ap. Also, I doesn't have any context help so I don't know the function of any button!

Helios I didn't know anything about it when I started mapping for UT(never released any maps yet). Only one way to go 'Try everything' and see what it does nad when you get the hang of it it's actually extremely simple!
That goes with shading buisness in Ued too!

I started touching many options of Ued. Only get a horrible square and a huge crash that made me reset the machine. Let's see what happens next :D
By the way, Rex, do you know how to add special effects (transparencies, mirror efects, etc.) on Photoshop?

In photoshop? You mean when you want to make a skin for UT2kX that's fx. transperant?

Yes if that's what you mean you just trickel a little with the Alpha channel and saves the texture in a format Ued supports with an alpha channel. In Ued you just put it in a shader etc. and sets the appropriate settings!

If you mean in a flat pic I do know if you want transperancy you can change the 'fill' or 'opacity' percentage placed above in the layers option(right bottom menu as default) ;)

Mirror effects in a flat image? You can make a glass/metal like surface and make another layer with the picture being reflected above with a tiny bit transperancy to make the metal/glass texture shine through.

EDIT:: http://www.thedark.dk/photoshop/ look here a friend of mine has put up a great collection of links concerning photoshop and there's alot of tutorials for anything you might want to create ;)

BTW you just need to have imagination to create somthing with the square(you can make more than a million different things with that simple figure) ;)

Progress on my skins: Mauble SE almost finished needs some face TC's, picture and a few final adjustments. You're gonna like his new stomach tattoo ;)

I don't really know I need to go through the skins and check if it can be done better/smarter(in most cases=true :p ).
But not so long I would guess as I just got a driving lesson for tomorrow cancelled.

Do you want it in .zip, .exe or .ut4mod? Or all 3?

I think zip and ut4mod. Though if it is patch specific could you set to the latest one(thats what I use).

Notice I stopped making Umods? ppl using mac/linux can't use them without a great deal of hassle and we don't want that... as the text can be written into the upl there's really no need for umods although they are handy granted - My advice a nice tidy zip so everyone can use them :D

Ok. I tend to like Umods because it means less work for me :D. Then again when you download a 100 skins/models you tend to like nice and tidy umods. Though I can do zip.

I like to control what I install , so I prefer zip´s.If I got umod´s I always extract them and install them manually . :D

Oh, thanks for all the info, Rex. I will put my hand on every option to make the proper tests!

While I am a fan of my own umods - I know they're safe enough to install because of the way I name the .utx .upl, etc., I'm always waiting to install one that'll overwrite another texture file or something and botch everything up, so I've been more discreet using other ppl's. As SaD said, I like to control what I install that's why I'v been converted to zips :)

That's the way. I hate programs that install components without letting me what the hell is entering my HDD.

I wish it was in zip format becuase that is automatically part of my computer and recogizes but with rars I have to drag them to the desktop and then open winrar because it only recognizes that are on the desktop.

There's like one umod installer for Mac and it installs everything but the upl file. Kind of the important file, eh. I prefer zip anyway.
