edited version of the ceasefire.wav (i think it is the one you asked)
I hope that it is good enough.

Edit : added ceasefireB.wav that is a version with the voice a bit less "compressed ", choose the one you see to fit better.

(i think that the ceasefire.wav sounds more "radio" than ceasefireB.wav but i prefer to leave the choice up to you there)

Will try that ! (Even if I've 4000ms+ ping :( )

Darkbls have you tried lately? We did some tweaks and even ppl from canada are getting under 200 ping when theres under 8 people on the server. You might get a decent ping...

Ok I have done some more tweaking to both the french and german voices. Here are the changes I made:

German
Adjusted the radio clicks to be roughly equivilent.
Used compression to even out the volume in the voice.
Added static (bandwidth limited white noise)
EQed to roll off high and low end

French (started with the latest version with static and radio clicks included as the voice levels were already very good and I didn't have to insert radio clicks or static)
Attenuated radio clicks slightly -3db
Applied band pass filter to the speech 450Hz to 6KHz (much nicer than having to use an EQ for this)
Attenuated sound right before last radio click -9db (gives the last click a little more punch, I acheived the same effect on the german by shortening the static I mixed in by a few milliseconds)

Now on to spanish

The shhh in the background is now at perfect level : that is a great work

But i think the german voice is a bit too "compressed" with too much saturation in the voice and sometime it is difficult to understand the words.

It seems , when hearing the french and german , that the german speaker use a very low quality radio to communicate with plenty of parasites , and the french use a top notch radio.

Maybe you should apply the same effect to french and german , to keep the continuity.
but overall it is a good work , i like the shh in the background , very radio communication-like .

Jayhova would you be willing to help us with the next voice pack? I would love for some of the languages to sound slightly different than fieldmedics. Would kick ass, thanks!

I think you are right about that. I'll need to start from scratch on the german now that I have a system.

I should point out that I switched software (using goldwave now). The previous software didn't do such a good job plus the source material on the french version made the tweaking much easier as the levels were already very good.

Sure. Actually it's quite nice to get to do some work in the field in which I got my degree.

I am not sure if it is the german that need to be redone , there is the possibility that your work on the french voice show a too good voice quality.

Because actually i am not sure of what the people who want the voice pack need : just a bit "parasited" voice , or a heavy parasited one.

As those 2 kind of voices are realistic , it all depends on the radio material used by the INF soldier : if it is top notch equipment , i think your french voices fit that , but if the radio material of the INF soldier is average , maybe your german work is actually better.

Before redoing , maybe some input from INF team about what they want to be "portrayed" should clear this and give a better direction to the sound tweakers to use their magic ;)

Actually you guys can setup all kinds of voices that sound like the real or close to the real radio chatter.

Well, using an aging micro + SB software to record some sentences all together in one big wav file (only one try... no second recording, really) and then using this GoldWave software with the crackin/out wavs and filter directions FieldMedic provided...
I' am now proud to present my first BeppoVoice pack (english) including just one new voice ... Me ;).

Grab it if you dare ;)

Beppo

[edit] pack updated. using some white noise now too. [/edit]

Beppo your pack kicks ass. Can we include it with the next voicepack as an easter egg?

Personnally i think that jayhova magic should be in the voice pack : they are really great and sounds very radio-like, more than the actual.
They should be definitively used.

If I may, I would like to redo my spanish voicepack. Some ppl are complaining about it since its alot of "slang" spanish and not proper spanish like my brothers. We could make the spanish voices with Jayhovas skills.

I thought the voicepack was final but if its not then let me mod that please. Thanks. will post soon the updated file for jayhova to work on. ;)

Edit: ok here it is, correct spanish for you to do Jayhova
