DVDs.....we are being robbed???

Are we talking about a console DVD player or Computer DVD drive? Either way, I haven't seen any poor quality movies on my DVD's. Well, Highlander, but it wasn't poor quality. It didn't use the 5.1 surround capabilities. Also, on the computer DVD drives, I thought you can change the region/zone in the setup. Is that right? Never tried it, no reason too.
