I'd like to bitch about the $hit quality of DVDs on the market just now, specifically VHS quality on a supposed digital media.
I just bought a Friends DVD yesterday and the quality sucked big time. It hadn't been digitally remastered for production on DVD and had fewer FPS than a standard VHS tape. Any large movements made by any of the actors caused tracers accross the screen and the picture quality was worse than what I've viewed on Sky1.
And its not just Friends thats guilty, many of the DVDs that you can buy are just the same. If you went into a Music store and bought a CD and then played it at home just to hear audio tape quality on your CD player. you'd be pretty pi$$ed off right? .... so why are they getting away with the same sort of thing on the DVD format? I pay those extra pounds for a DVD because I'm expecting a superior quality product, but I feel like I'm being robbed blind!
It wouldn't be so bad if it actually said on the cover of the DVD that it was not digitally remastered but it NEVER does! (at least it doesn't here in the UK)
Not only that but we British are being robbed even further by being expected to fork out £25 (nearly $40) for each new DVD.....WTF!!!
How much do you guys pay in the States?
Ok......I'm finsihed ranting now....just wanted to get that off my chest /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif
