UT3 DM, weapons/vehicles and Music own, too bad it is as broken as how was the MP part of Unreal 1 when it was released.

Let me know when you're ready to step up to mutiplayer, Plumb. I'm probably the only one left on these forums who knows any active and good servers for UT3. :p

I'm glad you like it! :D why did you delete that plumb

I thought my excitement looked out of place in this thread, hehe.
Oh well.

Yeah, I'll practice some more and hop online with you!
I don't imagine bots will keep me satisfied for much longer

edit
I hope I don't get too addicted like with past titles...

UT3's core gameplay is superior to the other reincarnations, yes I enjoy it more than UT's core gameplay. And the weapons are perfect. Too bad the rest of the game fails miserably, and is enough to ruin the experience for everyone else.
Actually, with one modification to UT2004, I could make the core gameplay, weapons and even some of the vehicles in UT2004 almost exactly mimic UT3's. :D

So I pose the question again. Why would I want UT3? Yeah, the graphics and the UnrealEd are nice and I may not be able to mimic EVERYTHING in UT3 but there's not enough that's new for me to warrant buying it.

That's a moot point though, you don't have to buy it since the codes where given out.

I challenge you to make a single modification to UT2004 that makes it almost exactly mimic UT3.

Unless you mean tons of gameplay changes in one game modification (mod). If you mean that you could just as well say "With one modification to <insert fully moddable game here>, I could make the gameplay, weapons and even some of the vehicles in <insert fully moddable game here> almost exactly mimic <insert some other game here> :D"

Which is basically like saying nothing at all.

After playing UT3, I see no reason to go back to UT2004, unless one were to miss the dodge jumping or the Lightning gun and Assault Rifle.
Honestly, I was trying to dodge jump constantly when I first tried it out (just out of habit), but it goes away after a few matches.

Everything about UT3 is better, so far as I've experienced, but then, I've given myself a break between games so there isn't some jarring transition where I cry and whine and all that.

Had to do some surgery to get the Tab button rebound

You just contradicted yourself. Please rephrase.

Better mods and some gametypes would be the reason for me to go back.

I've played every single mod on UT2004 to death already though.

That's cool. I don't know why you are here if you don't like or have even played UT3; even the vanilla game is da bomb.
Actually a couple things I'm not fond of are the VCTF maps (too cramped) and the nerfed info on the server browser (why take information away from us? That stuff was useful).

Oh snap! I just remembered I can play the CBP maps now!!!!!!!! Triple hooray!

I got frustratingly owned in my first PUB match last night, but I think I was too drunk and my ping was **** as usual, didn't know all the maps, blah blah blah :( (oh, and the guys were really good)

Plumb, try the HOLP maps too. Amazing gameplay.
UT3 has really great custom content, plus I already like the core game itself.

No, I played UT3 before. Didn't like it because.

1. Needed a lot of updates to get it to be a halfway decent game.
2. Menu sucked.
3. No good mutators/mods
4. Not really the games fault but I had a bit of trouble running it on my computer
5. Felt too much like Gears of War

BTW, the tag makers can suck my big fat cock.

How? You said a "single modification".

If you meant "changing one thing", I challenge you to do that.

If you meant "changing a whole bunch of tings", refer to my previous post. You could say that about any game using a moddable game (for example, I could just as easily say "I could make one modification to Half Life that would mak it exactly like UT3" well duh you could, you could make it like anything).

So you were either lying or just being completely disingenuous.
Better mods and some gametypes would be the reason for me to go back.
That's really debatable. A lot of the good mods on UT2004 were ported to UT3 eventually, and most of the ones that weren't were cool but not really played.

Plumb, what's your steam id? My steam id is jd641.

I don't know. How do I find out?

I know my nick, or whatever.

edit
according to Steam, I need to start a Valve game, and do a bunch of other steps.
Problem is, I don't have a Valve game installed, and it would take a few hours to do so on my connection.

  1. Launch any Valve multiplayer game.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Select the Keyboard tab.
  4. Click the Advanced button.
  5. Check the box labeled Enable Developer Console.
  6. Click Apply and then click OK.
  7. Join or create a server.
  8. From the menu screen, press the tilde ~ key - typically in the upper left hand corner of the keyboard to load the Console.
  9. Type status into the console text field and press the Enter key.
  10. Your SteamID will be displayed next to your nickname in the console window.
SteamID example: STEAM_0:1:1234567
lol. Why didn't I think of that?

That's the wrong ID.

In Steam, go to the Community tab. Then on the right click on "Edit My Profile". There is a Custom URL box you can add a name to which is the URL to your profile.

dammit, I don't see it.

There's an "Edit Profile" link, within which there are boxes to add a website title and URL, but how is that having anything to do with this?
That sounds kinda like what you were saying, but what is the URL to my profile? Why do I need such a thing?
