you misunderstood me. I don't play it to make it harder, I just don't change views to make it EASIER. Also I don't play 1st person cos of speed, it's the feeling that you're really doing it.

bobnine -- I use 1st person in ALL car driving games where there is an option, it's just so much more fun/realstic/exhilarating, and yes harder in some instances. I don't see the point of an easy way out of games though, they're designed to be challenging, removing that aspect is like taking away 50% of the fun.

Personnaly,I hate the GT seris, its too slow,it takes ages to get a decent car,it takes ages to finish a race, the turning sensitivity is far to low,you have to pretty much stop to turn corners,it doesnt feel like your raceing, its feels more like your sitting a drivers licence test, which the game happens to include.(I havent actuly played GT4,but it is a sequel to GT3,so it will probably have alot in common with GT3)

I had to quote this too, and comment. Did you try the arcade mode, where you can jump in and use some of the higher spec cars straight away? If you've ever doubted the speed you can feel in GT then you probably havent ever driven one of the pure racing cars, or for that matter, a viper GTS. The feeling of speed is sensational, and unlike NFSU it dosent need to wow you with amazing special blurry graphic effects to show that you're going fast, you just know. You can hear the wind resistance slowly pick up around you, the steering becomes ultra sensetive (or ultra-low sensetive, depending on the downforce the car has) and scenery whips past. Not only that, but when you reach your engines peak in a race and think "damn i need more speed", instead of going for some dumb "engine upgrade level 3" (etc) you hit the car setup and tweak the gear ratios, which is much more rewarding. I could go on and on, but i'm sure you're bored of my talking already

. GT is just awesome, the best driving simulation around.

$n][pErMan -- I have a steering wheel + pedals too, i used them in both NFSU, GT3 and i'm using them now in GT4. Sure they make it harder than it should be, but its so much more fun.

For me it was the Mitsubishi Twin Turbo, fully speced up it was about 1000 bhp. You could bounce around the track like a pinball and still win!

Yes I have actuly played GT3,it came free with my PS2 and was the only game I had for a while, the best car I have is the RUF CTR or something(its the same as a porche),it has all the best parts and go's fast,on staight roads, but you still have to slow down heaps for corners, which I find quite boring.
I have motion blurr turned off in NFSU1,to hard to see with it on.

I totally understand you not likeing this, the GT series had to kinda grow on me, but it is a driveing "simulation" game, and in real life you do have to slow down a ton to make turns(at those kind of speeds). Now I love the games :D

That's why I loved the rally. You could oversteer round all the corners. And the bumpy feeling on the track that felt like you were one corner away from losing control.

Playing in 1st person just to make the game harder for myself would be stupid,it'd be like playing HL2 with only a keyboard and no mouse just to make it harder for myself.
Also,I dont think that i should be forced to play in 1st person just to make the game feel fast.GT4 just isn't a game I like. The NFS seris are good racing games that I like.

With car games 3rd person is always slightly slower paced than 1st person and for most people that race in first person do it for the feeling of speed that the view gives. Also making something harder isnt stupid, its smart as it makes you a better player.

The best racing game i have played so far is Burnout3, now its is very fast much faster than any NFS game i think it has better Graphics than NFSunderground2 and it also has good traffic not the NFSU2 traffic that is one car every 500 meters but simlar traffic that you would find in real life which makes racing so much more interesting. Burnout3 also has online play.

Enough of my rambalings i have started to make a few world models if there is anyone still mapping and want them.

Games look 100x better on PC .. you think they would release them for PC first :p But then again... all they want is money so people who want the highest quality gaming get the shaft :( I think they are idiots... I dont know hardly anyone who would buy a PS2 or xbox for 1 or 2 games.

Well if you look at the numbers and just even at retail stores PC games dont sell as well as console games, not even close, I love both console and PC (got them all), PC is far better when it comes to graphics and some types of control (fps games primarily) but I love to sit down to a console and play a game that I dont have to install, tweak or have it crash on me. And a good video card costs as much if not more than a console. But i too would love to see the GT series brought to PC :D

I love a good game or a good story... but most important to me is Image Quality and sound. I LOVE eye candy in a game and will play everything at its fullest potential settings. Ive played xbox and PS2.... they are alright.... but every game I have ever played on PC thats offered for either of those just blows them out of the water. :)

I agree but the Xbox and PS2 are also 4 and a half years old, do you remember the video card you had 4 and a half years ago and what the games looked like, LOL I think the Cube, PS2 and Xbox have aged pretty well.
I was still using my Voodoo 3 at the time, LOL :D

But then again i am big into gameplay as well as graphics, I Love to play GBA games like Advance Wars and Castlevania games :D

4 years ago... I think I had a Ge2 Ti .. and shorty after a Ge4 Ti 4200 8xAGP. Respectable cards for the time (and IMO still looked better) :) The only non graphics intensive game I think I play and love is Civ 3. That game is so badass and fun! :D I also have it on my laptop so if class sucks I can play there too . .lol ;)
