GOREFEST - Erase

Good ol' times.
A friend of mine brought this CD over - that must have been in 94 - and we freaked out about this unique voice. At that time we were used to Pantera, Dream Theater and Megadeth, and maybe a little bit of German Death Metal like Morgoth's Isolated. Sepulturas's Arise and Morbid Angels Blessed are the Sick were high in our charts while everyone else around us was listening to techno.
Just take a look at the crowd in this Morgoth Video: This is how I remember my concerts!

Ha, I remember when we were later discussing that this era should never end, like in the movie "Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray - it should start around '93 and end around '96 and then we have to start again in '93 - that would be it.

yeah gorefest is great

also that stitch thing is horrid metalcore but she does the vocals quite well compared to the average horrid hardcore screamer

Not all metalcore is bad, Straight line stitch is a bit out of ordinary. I don't think Ive ever seen a black chick in any metal band before and she shows up the majority of whats out there.

If you wan't to see crowds headbanging you got to go to a concert where Slayer is headlining. The older crowd regulates the younger punks pretty well. Pretty awesome seeing a 50 year old dude drop a 17 year old ;)

Scamp finally released an album. Been wanting to get ahold of any of their stuff for 2+ years.

So...

I really gotta flaunt this find. If anyone's into doom metal, this is a great band.

MOOGLE REC

Scald...great Russian doom right there. Only released one full-length, but f*ck me if it isn't fantastic. The guitars are intense, the drumming tight, the bass grooving, and the vocals are gorgeous. Everything about this band and their album kicks ass.
If you're into doom metal, Russian bands, or Moogle Recs, get this one. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Many doom metal advocates rate this thing very high, as do I.

Enjoy.

Scald is indeed really good. Too bad they only saw One album release.

cant really call that metal :B

but the singers voice seems to be nice.

Ive heard some random things about forest stream but never went in depth

usually gothic metal annoys me becauses its done the same cheesy way over and over

i would almost say i dislike it but then celtic frost made awesome gothic tinged stuff.

Eluveitie, huh? I'd simply call it Folk Metal. I've been listening to them for quite some time. Around the same time that I discovered them however, I also discovered another band, Equilibrium.
While not exactly the same genre, they share similarities, but I find Equilibrium to be far superior.

Equilibrium - Blut Im Auge - Epic Folk Metal maybe? :D

Haha, thanks. I think that's the first time I heard growling in German. And I always wondered if I would be able to understand the lyrics if its in German. If there wouldn't have been the occasional "BLUT IM AUGE" in there I wouldn't even be able to tell what language it is.

Other that that I actually like it.

Those actually sound more like black metal used to before it got sort of popular.
