I have access to 4 network channels. One of them is the conservaive Corontaion street type, the other 3 are a mix of Canadian/US culture with whatever little local shows the govt can force in there.

Anyway, the beer tastes the same... so I'll get over it. But no doubt something similar will happen again.

I ditched my tv a long time ago friend, but social necessity becons me to join other ppl infront of the box for dinner, drinks, etc... that I can live with
But 4 hours of Friends, ER, Drew Carey(sp?) and whatever else is hip at that time just drives me mad.

The fact that it became an issue at all should be an indicator of what it's like to be bombarded with differing world views, no matter how irrelevant they might be. That was my point.... It makes no difference to The Simpsons if the place is called Duffs or Moes(sp?). Relative to America and whatever else it's a ****ing insignificant scrap of dirt with a shop on it that sells beer. The situation is hard to rationalise without the aid of opressive laws.
I find it unscrupulous that Fox would waste their time, and Mr Duffs, pursuing the matter. Que comment about nutty yanks.... a knee jerk reaction, sorry, but it's the truth anyway. Same goes for any country.

Agreed, but Rupert isn't known to be a nice guy. He has and always will do things in HIS best interest. FOX is wrong, but Rupert sure didn't tell them to stop...did he?

My point:

This isn't about an American corporation. It's about greed. I've seen Aussie, German, Dutch, Belgian, British and Canadian companies do similiar things. I just don't agree with your generalization of all Americans, based on what a greedy corporation does. If that is your proof that all Americans are nutcases, then I would be justified in saying the same thing about other nationalities. Of course, I wouldn't do that...and I personally would be wrong to judge people with that standard.

In my opinion, I think the guy would have won, if he chose to fight it. Of course, legal fees may have been a factor.
