CXMP Beta starts up

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

We start the CXMP.de server for an open beta testing of some new and old maps.

Yes a download is planed, but please be comfortable first with the verry fast redirected dicrectory.

At the moment to many changes are planed in the maps, so that I must update each day server, redirected maps and than extra download directory. And at that many of maps and my shmall uplink,...... is it not a funny job.

Do you have probs to get maps from the the server GotBeer?

I do understand your problems, though. I'm not sure I could play on the de server, anyway. I'm sure I'll be able to get them once BBF starts running them.

I'll try to take a look at them next week. Going out of town to give more relatives a chance to buy my child stuff, or just give her cash. She's 1yr old! Of course, travel at this time of year in "Alaska" can be kind of tough. :p

some initial map feedback:

General –

Deploy Points - Need to go thru all the maps and make sure that all the deploy points have offsets from the default deploy point. I use 50% if there is a second unhackable deploy. For hackable, add them up, and space them out equally (eg if 2, use increments of .33, if 3 use increments of .25, 4 use .20, etc),
Radar – Simple radar is set up. Most of these maps need a background that follows the terrain. Its not as easy to do, but the finals should all have it (including mine))

Decane Caldera – the terrain preceding the catwalk as u approach the Red node from the right needs to be smoothed so you don’t have to duck to get under the catwalk
Ego – A few rocket packs laying around, too many deploy points…maybe too many energy’s too…
NeuFactor – Hackable deploys are too close to close to nodes

One more...Any non-XMP conversion map (from CTF, etc) needs XMP landmarks added, So, when in the next patch you hit "I'm hacking this", They will get a location....so you will have to name everything too ;)

Face: I like the map generally and believe it can provide a lot of really fun game play. But, I think it would be more competitive if the gravity was set a bit higher. It is so low right now that you can easily jump from one end to the other in a single bound. That seems a bit too easy to me for an arty run.

No, is Face3 the Ägyp-Map, the ArtiNode is in the Building
only the Way from base to base is fast

but let us in the play decide :)

@killinya, do you make the BotPaths in the maps and the radar maps?

I plan on working on Bot paths Very soon.

Radar maps...YOU need to learn to do TOO (as do I).
