You just have terrible eyes then.
I can see annoying amounts of flicker in 60hz crt - 75hz. 80hz I can still see flicker and at 100hz if I look away and use my peripheral vision, I still see screen and light flicker. But looking at it, I rarely notice it. And yes, I do notice frame rate differences very easily.

I have my Sony G520 set to 100Hz refresh.
I played for several hours online tonite, and so did many others. Well, we had the epic #2 war server full. My screens have the players listed. DFB was also active.

Yes, I can't speak for any other gametype than greed, but people do still play this on a regular basis...
