Ubber, you are likely well aware that the original biblical text was not King James English. But, the translators that King James used, rendered the Hebrew word in that spot as kill, when it should have been murder. I happen to have an interlinear bible (which you made me go and dig out of my dresser) which displays the original text and the literal translation. Each Hebrew word has a number that can be looked up in a lexicon. There are different words for kill and murder, and the king James translation is inaccurate in this one spot as well as many others. You can always go and prove this to yourself, if you want to.
Maybe you don't understand the difference between murder and kill. They are not exact synonyms, because murder always has an evil motive, whereas killing does not. That is why God can command man to kill man and remain blameless: God is not envious nor covetous of anything that man has, so He has no evil motive that would render any killing act into a murderous one. And, the executioners do not hold anything against the condemned, they are just doing what they are commanded, so they are not murderers.
Hitler and his Nazis were murderers because they had personal motives that were gratified by the murder and plundering of the Jews. The people who START any war, are the murderers, the defenders are just killers.
