Sir, upon reading your recent contribution to this thread, posted on the 20th of January at 11:03 AM, I came to the realization that it was entirely without value, intrinsic or otherwise. A user had requested help on a topic related to observations he had made regarding the operation of two computers he owns. You took it upon yourself to extract and focus on the fact that both computers run an operating system that you, yourself, do not find of value. Ignoring the original topic at hand, you made a weak and grasping attempt at humor – possibly in an effort to seem quick-witted and clever. In my opinion, sir, your attempt failed. If you wish to continue sharing your entirely unoriginal and cliché brand of wit, I suggest that you do so in alt.os.linux or on the available discussion forums at Slashdot (
http://www.slashdot.com). You will no doubt receive a warmer response and perhaps experience a few moments of celebrated renown as people quote your post and leave short, to-the-point responses like “LOL”, “ROFL”, and “OMG PWNED”.
By no means is this a formal request for you to end your interaction with these discussion forums. It is not my place, nor is it within my power to force you to do so. On the contrary, I encourage you to continue posting. However, I ask that you take a moment after composing each of your posts, before submitting them. Use this moment to evaluate what you have typed. Ask yourself, “Will it contribute in a positive fashion to the topic at hand? Does it involve a coherent line of questioning or needed information?” so-on and so-forth. If you deem it to be of value to the posters involved in the discussion, the community-at-large, or other members a at future point in time, I encourage you to submit it. Otherwise, please refer to my original remarks posted on the 23rd of January at 11:37 PM.
Respectfully,
Kibbles N. Bits
