At the end of 2009, it became known that Epic Games' Polish development arm, People Can Fly, had trademarked the name 'Bulletstorm'. It is no surprise then that the latest issue of Game Informer features that very game on its cover and in a lengthy feature.

While we won't post scans of the article, we can tell you that the game is shaping up to have a rather unique look. Best of all, Bulletstorm looks to be a purely action first-person-shooter with a hero who thrives on making an absolutely bloody mess of his foes. Using an assortment of firearms and his 'leash', protagonist Grayson Hunt puts the hurtin' on the bad guys with a skill-point incentive given for taking them out in ever more creative ways. Spend those skill points to upgrade your gear.

Again, for more details and lots of tasty pics, pick up the latest issue of Game Informer, the self-proclaimed world's #1 videogame magazine.

It doesn't look particularily remarkeable, but at least it has some minor redemption in having some kind of noticeable art style. Ultimately, from what I've seen so far, I'll be passing this one up.

No co-op = loss of interest. The article is sparse on details about the game itself (as expected) but with nobody talking about multiplayer and no co-op for sure, this is shaping up to be a quick run through and never play again kind of game. :(

Interesting... thanks for not posting the scans;)

Well that does suck however, since we don't know much more about the game is it easy to judge that it will be a quick run and never be played again?

There have been some SP only games in the past and recently that I have played multiple times. Granted those games were awesome. Hopefully Bullet storm will be awesome enough to be replayed again.

The best part of Painkiller was the singleplayer game. Between the secrets and all the other fun stuff PCF packed into it, I've found myself playing it more than a few times. Count me in.

Co-op would be nice, but it's not necessary to be a worthwhile experience. Batman, for instance, pulled it off well.

Going up against Uncharted 2?
Hah, let's hope they haven't hired those who made the "awesome" UT3 campaign scenario.
If it's nearly as good as Uncharted 2, I'll buy it without hesitation.
I just hope it's true and that they won't fall flat on their faces.

PLaying once is good. GoW was so boring and bland I tried to play it 3 times and never completed it (let alone even the first missions) although as EPIC fan I bought a 360 for it.

People Can Fly are those people who made the awesome Painkiller.
I know. But they weren't with Epic then. Now they are. Epic was never good for the story aspect of the game (Except Unreal 1 IMO) :p
But I read the scans, seems like they've got an independent writer for the story, so it's all good (for now)

Same here - I never finished Gears1 and never bothered with Gears2 so I'm not exactly pissing my pants for Gears3 tbh.
Not sure about this latest announcement and I really can't make a call on what I think about bulletstorm.
It will have to be something monumentally special for me to be interested.
We shall see.

2011 has now two excellent-looking games so far.

They did their best in story only in the GOW series. Unreal 1's one was just inconsistent and didn't make much sense at times.

You mean RtNP's story was inconsistent. Unreal made perfect sense, hell the planet was not named Na Pali, I don't know who made that up, Na Pali were just the sky islands originally. The planet was called Gryphon, hell even the promotional material for Unreal says so. Of course in alphas and betas it was even mentioned.
Basically I don't take any game that mentions Na Pali as a planet as canon, that means even first UT.
