A lobotomy would mean that he wouldnt know what was happening. A sex change would be very ironic, but anything like that really would drag us down to their level...and i dont think it would send a message apart from "we're just as brutal as you think we are"

Prison is the only way forward. He'll suffer enough at the hands of the guards and other inmates anyway.

In Star Trek, the Ferengi (the scheming profit whores of the galaxy) have their bodies cut up into small pieces and preserved when they die. These pieces are then sold. The variation here could be to cut bin Laden into 3000+ pieces, have them preserved, and present them to the victims families. The bin Laden chunk wouldn't have to be visible, perhaps sealed in plastic so as not to be gross. A little symbol of justice for those families that lost loved ones.

1. Kill the bastard on sight
2. Give him a mock trial then execute him
3. Give him a mock trial then send him to jail
4. Quietly imprison him in a special containment building then begin breaking him to extract information regarding Al-Queda
5. Celebrate him as a hero for nearly uniting the world in something, anything.

actually i could live with permanent imprisonment, as long as he had absolutely no contact with another human being. that way he could slowly go insane, and at the same time his people would see him getting a punishment worse than death.
