Apparently the release of the Bioshock demo caused quite a fright when PS3 owners discovered that the usually ugly Big Daddies were... well... even more hideously ugly. But 2K is here to save the day, with the announcement of an upcoming patch to pretty them up just a bit. No date is set for the patch, however, except that it will be after the game's retail launch next week.

That shot is leaked from a X360. Would be nice to actually see how "ugly" they look on the PS3.

i think it actually looks better on the ps3... less overkill on the specularity or whatever. you can see more detail coming through in the textures because of it.

Man, I thought I was a nitpicker. Are these guys setting up the xbox 360 and ps3 next to each other at home, so they can whine about which one is better or something?

I don't see the big deal about it. If anything, I notice only the lighting on the PS3 Big Daddy to be different.

It's not like you're going to look at the Big Daddy again, again and fall in love with him.

Well if you look closely on the helmet you can see some blocks of textures, or pixels or whatever. It's pretty hard to see from a still, but I noticed the same effect in Mass Effect on my computer and well when you're moving around it can be quite bothersome indeed, because it flickers... :/

As a reference, here is a screenshot of Mass Effect from my computer where you see those blocks. Look at the bottom of the screenshot, then look at the helmet. You see the same effect, only a different color.
