Wulf, this is awesome. I knew how to do all these already (though I'll never get wall jumping down, but that's alright as long as I know how to CJ =p), but many players in many of the games I'm in do not. I completely agree that most people I've encountered like to hide information and not share it with the competition (though I prefer to play against skilled and, more importantly, improving players), which makes it very hard on beginners or even older players who were never taught many manuvers that others feel are common knowledge.

In short, thanks.

I didn't mention it in the jump guide, but I guess it's not always common knowledge, the "double tap" must take place within a certain timeframe, it's in the GUI under "Options > Game > Dodging"

the default time is .25 seconds, if you increase that, you have more time to hit the second (or third key in some cases) to register a "dodge". for learning some of these moves I'd suggest a time of .35 or .50 until you get used to it, and then you can always lower the time again once you've mastered it.

be careful not to set it too high though, or you might strafe a couple times to make small adjustments and end up dodging off a cliff ;)

To expand on the warning part of this. You get faster, and faster with your movements as time goes on. Idealy you should end up with less than default dodge time. Granted XMP is very slow (unlike 2k3, which was played on insane speeds) so you don't twitch around as much. However the faster you get on your feet the more often you will find yourself inputind dodgemovents you didn't intend for and flying all over the place. ;)

Even better Cap is that this machine has NEVER been in an Arcade or "operated" in any way! It's a two owner machine. The original owner worked for Midway and I bought it from him. It's never even had a quarter slid through it.

After all these years I still enjoy playing it.
