I wouldn't call that a farming build because it doesn't really have an effect on a large group of enemies. You can only do damage to whatever enemeies you cast something on so yes... it would cut down on the number of enemies you can take on.

The only good farming builds are the ones that can do large amounts of damage to several enemies with a single cast. That build will basicly keep you alive yes... unless you have a ton of degen on you and five guys hacking away at you. The point of that build is to constantly have health regeneration on so you don't have to worry about dying as much. It would be a nice one to use in GvG because then the monks shouldn't have to worry about healing you as much.

But if you're planning on going out and taking on 3 or 4 hydras or griffons it won't happen. Hook yourself up with the N/Mo 55 SS build. I can take down small groups of just about anything that doesn't use interrupt or degen.
PS gets interrupted once, you're toast LOL.

Alright fellas, I've got a couple of questions/complaints about this Nec build (2 variations; one here: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/N/any_Leeching_Necro and one here:http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content/necro-anything-id1779.php).

First of all; this is s'posed to be a farming build, but I can only attack one thing at a time... I would think a farming build would be like the 55monk and have at least one AoE spell...
Second; seeing as I want this to be a farming build, I was thinking about altering the stats to add either death magic or (more than likely) Inspiration magic (I want Spirit Shackles). So I need some feedback from you fellas on what would be good for AoE & farming. :D

Leech Necro: The Leeching Necro is a Necromancer PvE Build that utilizes life stealing skills from the Blood Magic line. It is designed to be independent of the monks in the party by providing its own healing. While not suitable for PvP per se, it can easily be adapted for such a use; see Team - Blood Spike.

Necro/Anything: This is a good farming build where you kill one at a time. Sort like the Warrior. You run in and kill them one at a time. I farm quite alot with my warrior.

Here is a Very Good 55 Necro Guide.

For that I would have to ascend and change from nec/mes to nec/monk, which is kinda out of the question right now (seeing as I'm far from ascending).

The whole leeching thing is pretty good, and I usually use Life Siphon on 2 or 3 opponents (those that can't break hexes, that is), to weaken them before I concentrate on the nearest magic user. While working on a few quests in Kryta, I went up against 4 groups of four Caromi (or whatever those bird-things are called) and dispatched them rather quickly, tho I had to change my tactics to killing them one at a time.

All in all; I like the build, but I want to improve it some by using the mesmer I also chose in pre...
I picked up a skill called Epidemic that transfers any "condition" spell from one creature to all creatures in the immediate vicinity (for the time left on the first creature), which I think would be an excellent opening attack against a group of enemies.
What is even better, is that Epidemic is a no attribute spell, so I don't have to boost anything in order to use it... which leaves me with the question of; "What can I use to transfer heavy damage to a group of enemies quickly?".

Ardens is sitting at 13 blood magic and 7 soul reaping, and I can get 26 points easily by dropping her to 10 blood.
Right now I'm thinking about going with Inspiration, but I want to get input from you guys first.
Ok, enough talking... I'm gonna go look up some mes spells on wiki.
Thanks for the input. :)

Little update:
Decided (temporarily) to go with Inspiration, and keeping in the spirit of leeching; chose to take Inspired Hex and Energy Tap (cuz leeching life leeches energy too (especially at 10 energy per spell)).
Just hit level 17, too... and I could seriously use a truncheon/wand better than this 8-12... I'm only hitting Ettins for 8-13 damage!!

Truncheon requiring blood magic? I have one req. 10... but its specialty is halves casting of curses... pretty dumb. How about I go farm the desert for you.

You can get the collector Cruel Staff which is Energy +10 dmg 11-22 req. 9 blood. Halves casting time and recharge of blood magic 20%

Or theres a deadly cesta 11-22 req. 9 blood that halves skill recharge of blood. Then you can get an offhand that does something else.

Let me know. It could take a while to get the jawbones since those guys use interrupt... but its doable.

I don't bother with ettins. The SS build I use cant get past the mergoyles and tengu to get to them. LOL

To Farm Ettins you don't need to exit out of Beetletun and mess with the Pesky Mergoyle and Tengu's.. I now leave out of Lion's Arch, you have to deal with Fire Imps but they aren't that bad.. Most times you can avoid or run by them.. Then its a clear shot to the Ettins. I was farming Ettins with my Ele last nite and was taking less 1 minute for a group of 3.
Aura of Rest.
Fire Attune.
Aggro
Armor of Mist
Meteor Shower (Interupts Healing Sig)
Flame Burst
Inferno
Flame Burst (Usually all dropped by now)
Fireball (if they broke Aggro and come back)
Flameburst if any are still alive..

Wait to recharge and aggro next group. Very Fast Klling better then Warrior but not as fun.. Slicing and Dicing is pretty fun.. LOL...

I've got a +10 off hand that doesn't really do much but give you +10... got it early in Post-Ascalon, but I can't remember where.

TAZ:
I know there's a handful of collector's staves/truncheons out there, but it'll take some time to get there, as I'm doing Kryta by a handful of missions at a time.

Got some issues going on here, but I'll get back to you on that as soon as I know something... thought I'd let you know, in case I disappear for a week or two.

Well... I don't work Thursday... and all my crap that I'm dealing with this week should be over with. Me and tazzy will go out and get the stuff FOR you... how's that sound? :p

I could do it myself if taz isn't around... but two is better than 1 is it not? ;)

Now that my Ele ascended I can either go as a bomber or just keep going with my SS necro. Whatever works best. Depending on what we're dealing with we can probably split up and farm an area in record time LOL.

I did try tundra giants. They really are a pain to deal with. You need to find groups that are close together since they use range attacks (stupid rocks). Use Balance Stance when you need to re-cast SoJ and spam the hell out of HB and PS. If you're health gets too low, cast PS (1/4 second) and Bonetti's right after. Should give you a nice break and re-cast HB before Bonetti's ends.

I had enough Tusks to pick up 2 Cesta's gave 1 to BT.
I worked with BT on the Missions and he is now at THK.
My Ranger and Monk is at THK. I am pretty sure DEV's Monk is also at THK. BC, is your Nec. or Ele there yet?? I would like for all of us to get together and do that Mission. Would be good practice for Me and Dev with Monks. I need to get my Ranger done so she can get the Spiked Trap..
BC, I can run you through the first 2 missions pretty easy.. Let me know..

BTW: Factions Preview tomorrow.. I am off so I can spend all day playing Factions.. WooT!!

Welp, I still have 1 bonus mission and 4 quests to pick up in Kryta, but I made it to Druid's and The Wilds last night.
Going to try and pick up a couple of those quests before I go to bed today (less than 2k til lvl 18!).
Probably going to need help on Galrath... I went without warriors and got creamed about 3/4 of the way there.

Oh, I've got a question for you, TAZ; did you get to pick up Factions yesterday, or the preview?
I was under the impression that preorders got to pick it up a day early, but when I went to get it, the guy told me I couldn't get it til tomorrow (today).
