Crowze, why fire one well placed shot when you can fire 3 at once? :D Seriously, just hit the range (not Crowze, specifically :p) and practice putting 3 bullets from a burst in the same spot. It's not difficult, just requires a bit of work, and is more effective than semi, I find. I guess ultimately it will be your style that determines your choice, but now you have both arguments.

I use semi a lot, particularly on large maps when the target might be a medium or long range. It avoids having to change mags so often. When playing CQB I'm auto all the way. Also, your weapon selection should change depending on the map. A G3 or M16 with a 203 isn't much use on SKTacktics.

Horses for courses, boys!

For a beginner in my opinion, the easiest weapons to use when going ironsights are in no special order :
-SIG
-M16
-MP5

Of course, the MP5 is now a very lot less efficient than the SIG and M16 due to the introduction of the body armor level IIIa (and strangely, the Aimpoint version is less easy to use than the ironsight version), but is so much funnier to use :) .

All other weapons ironsights takes more practice than those 3 ones for a new player.

For the ROF , auto is a good choice, as you are not forced to let your finger in the trigger, you can fire burst after burst in auto fire mode without being disadvantaged at medium / long range :)

I consently change my fire modes and weapons depending my situation and what is going on in a round or from round to round. Don't get focused on 1 or 2 things. Learn what weapon is best for you for a situation. I have good results with semi-suprresion fire while others use the mimi. It all depends.
