Anomaly, a futuristic high-speed hovercraft racing/combat mod, has just been released for Unreal Tournament 2004. If you're like me, and are a huge fan of F-Zero type games, then this should definitely pique your interests. You can download the mod in umod and zip formats (24.5 MB). For more screenshots check this forum thread.

Very nice concept art, horrible screenies. I want to see ramps spiraling into futuristic cities with transparent road sections, neon lighting and a skybox to die for, not some cylindrical BSP that looks like someone scaled up a wheel of time map and turned it sideways.

This looks pretty cool!
Downloading ...

Too bad internetplay and botplay are not supported :(
Further on it's a GREAT mod and I know there will be internetplay in a further version.
When this mod does get released with internetplay many servers will pop-up :)

I wonder who could make such a map? ;)

Wait, if there aren't any bots and there's no internet play, then does that mean that someone has released an alpha mod that's actually an alpha mod instead of just calling it one to make it look better by comparison?!?!

Yeah... ...I'm cynical. :p
Screens look good though. I wonder if it really is possible to have spirals, I was under the impression the vehicle code didn't allow the vertical axis to be completely flipped.

One of the unwheel mappers made a map in which you could drive up and down walls, it was done with gravity volumes, so it's probably posible to do spirals.

I couldn't get this mod to work, I could get to the menu but couldn't even start a game, plus it made almost all of the mods that I had installed disapear from the mods list in the comunity menu, I had to remove anomoly to get them back.

Hi guys, just to let you know, I just did a fresh install of UT2K4 with the patch 3204 and Anomaly works fine.

I'm not sure if the new beta patches break the mod but we'll do some testing later. Please use the ut4mod installer as there are some reports of problems with the zipped version.

LAN play is supported and internet play is half-supported at this point.

It looks like a cool mod, and I'd really like to play it but after my experience with the alpha, I think I'll just wait for a beta version.

But the way, I'm using the 3223 patch so that might be my problem.

Yup, the beta patches seem to break our mod in half. :( Have to go bug fixing in a while.

Anomaly does not change any of your UT2004 original .ini settings, all customization is done only in the mod files, unfortunately the previous release of UT2004 requires the .ucl file to exist in the UT2004 main folder, but if you download the Quick Patch its safe to delete anomaly.upl and anomaly.ucl from UT2004 System folder if it causes you problems.

I had the same problem with the dissappearing mods in the Community menu. It is caused by the ut2k4mod.ini file. It has spaces in there to align the = signs. I removed the spaces and all my mods came back. I used the UT4MOD installer and I have the latest public patch installed (so no Beta).

Please fix for next release.

Hmm, Troopers 2004 allows you to fly X-Wing and T-Fighters, and perform 360° loops.

Failed to find object 'Class Anomaly.e/U24s

Has anyone seen this error when trying to run the mod? I was an owner of the original SNES F-Zero and miss it far too much. But every time I load this mod, I get this error dumped to the command line:

> ./ut2004 -mod=Anomaly
Failed to find object 'Class Anomaly.e/U24s

Exiting due to error
