Well, at least the Orcs arn't green and actually look like twisted, evil elves.

More than anything though, its the background scenery which looks soo right to me:- Mount doom, the statues of Isildur and Anarion, the bridge in Moria, the Shire... I remember the books went into great detail in describing the landscape. The movie seems to be just how I imagined it from Tolkiens descriptions.
