Non-practice work nights I usually don't get up until 8:20 (or later, depending on how the day went).

I'm not a big fan of eyecandy, so I would think that the map would be kinda basic, nothing special... mainly because we'd be focusing on more important things.

The main focus could be movement, but I wouldn't mind having some sections that require one to dodge and fire at something to progress to the next area... say; dodging over a gap in a bridge and firing into a recessed section of wall with a trigger to open the door, giving you a certain amount of time to get to the exit, or go back and do it over.

Thats a good idea actually :)
This is definately going to require a lot of building, testing, and tweaking on our part, but I think it will be fun.

Do you think it should be a set course that needs to be followed, or should we just make a central spawn room and allow the players to enter any area they think they need to work on?

We gotta get together and talk about it soon, we shouldn't wait too long.

The jump/dodge area would likely be the biggest... so perhaps we can make it wrap around; Spawn room > jump/dodge room > other rooms (which would wrap around to the spawn room again)?

if it can help you out on how to design it, maybe you could take the idea from the map dm-fng-traininggrounds. That dude made a map and a demo of it on how to use it, It's pretty neat :)

Thought I would update you folk on a new project.
I'm currently working on a new map that will be CTF and DM... spent a few hours working on it this morning, but I've only got the hallway to show for it.

Progress might be a little slow, because I want to take my time and do it right... so I'll update when I have something worth looking at.
