Okay, so I have these components:

LG 21.5" LCD
Resolution - 1920 x 1080

Response - 2ms

Toshiba USB Laptop Docking Station

...and..

Belkin KVM Switch (analog)
[SCREENSHOT]http://images.frys.com/art/product/big_shots/4878820.big.jpg[/SCREENSHOT]

I have the KVM connected to 1) my desktop PC (Windows 7 Ultimate), 2) the docking station, which is connected to my laptop (XP), 3) the above LG monitor, and 4) a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Everything works wonderfully, except when I have to reboot the desktop PC. When I reboot the desktop PC, everything appears fine until I get to the account login screen. When it gets to this point, the screen goes black except for a box that reads "Analog Out of Range" and give the frequencies.

When this happens, I have to disconnect the KVM switch and plug the monitor directly into the desktop PC, log on to the account, then route the monitor back through the KVM again.

I've tried having the KVM switched to the laptop when I reboot the desktop PC, but it doesn't help. When I switch back to the desktop, I see the exact same result.

Also, I have no issues rebooting the laptop.

Any suggestions? I'm getting a little too old to be crawling under my desk every time I need to reboot.

It's probably the KVM switch. They never seem to work right for some odd reason. I almost got one or two and then I heard bad things, so I just keep multiple monitors-keyboards-mice and just switch them out and stuff. I don't have any personal experience, but everytime I think about getting one people say not to get one.

Hmmm, I've used KVM switches before, but it's never been an issue. It's interesting that I don't have this issue with rebooting my laptop. There's something disjointed, and I'd like to figure it out if possible. Problem is, I don't know if it's the KVM, the monitor, or the PC so I don't know where to begin researching.

I've got all the latest drivers, so I don't think that's an issue.

I hate having an issue I can't resolve, and I don't like work-arounds.
